Re: Attacks
Don't have the time to add to my watchlist. Do you have any specific instances in mind? =Nichalp«Talk»= 10:23, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
Police logo
Done. Makes a little difference though. Ideally it should be in SVG format. =Nichalp«Talk»= 12:19, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
I wonder how come each city police would have its own logo. I might try to see if Nagpur police also has something special for them. Nice work though - I didn't knew this earlier. --GPPande 12:41, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
The SVG format is XML based. So, you would have to draw the image from scratch. You would need to use a free software application such as Inkscape to do so. Try downloading it and going through the tutorials. =Nichalp«Talk»= 12:59, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Ham radio
There aren't any courses at this time of the year available. Don't worry about the cost yet... you need a licence to purchase it. Cost depends on your pocket and what features you want. 2000 - 200000 is the range depending on the sophistication. =Nichalp«Talk»= 11:31, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
You can give the exam once every month. But the authorities wait till they have a fixed number of applicants before they conduct the exam
You do not need to join any course. If you're with a course, you get to learn what ham radio is about.
Ya we need ham. What happens when you lose network? :P =Nichalp«Talk»= 19:55, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Yes, the syllabus is culled from engineering. For Morse reception, download CW Player http://www.f1orl.org/cwpeng.htm. Set the speed to 15 wpm and try copying what the PC plays without looking at the PC. Good luck with the test. There are many things you can do with the licence. =Nichalp«Talk»= 06:05, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
You can "by-heart" the sound. You have to react to the sound that denotes an alphabet. So you will have to recognise all alphabets. No, that person is not me, but someone I know and was only to happy to put up his photo on Wikipedia. =Nichalp«Talk»= 06:46, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
Signature colour
Sorry, for late replying. I saw your message that day but then had to logoff WP for some urgent work and later it completely went out of my mind. Just now I checked another message and remembered you had asked for this. Here you go Suyogaerospacetalk to me!. For more colors see HTML color. I would suggest don't use <big> syntax in your signature as per WP:Signature. Enjoy! --GPPande 13:07, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
There is a difference:-
You pasted this on my talk page: <font face="Old English Text MT" font color="Orange">Suyogaerospacetalk to me!</font> (talk)
I suggested above: <big><font face="Old English Text MT" font color="Orange">Suyogaerospace</font><font face="Old English Text MT" font color="Orange">talk to me!</font></big>
HTML font and color tags are inside the brackets and not outside. Just paste the signature above in your preferences text box. It should work. --GPPande 18:02, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
Re: Ham2
What's Elmers ?
88 = Hugs and kisses. Don't tell that to a YL (young lady). You might.... ah I'm killing the suspense. ;) [Don't blame me for any black eyes)
Thanks, I learnt something new. I can advise you.. but let me get my licence, then I will be in a better position to show things around. I'm not sure if JNA has classes at this point of time. About the second query, I wouldn't like to comment. =Nichalp«Talk»= 07:22, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
My licence, till then I cannot come on air
No comments on the second. Wikipedia is a public place and anyone can read text. Contact me via email.
Morse: Practice makes perfect. The software I recommended is what's used in the exam.
Book is ok, but dated. It has a question paper set.
Hi! I noticed your signature getting messed up. Make sure that in the Special:Preferences section you have checked (ticked) Raw signature option: YRaw signature (If unchecked, the contents of the box above will be treated as your nickname and link automatically to your user page. If checked, the contents should be formatted with Wiki markup, including all links. Do not use images, templates, or external links in your signature.). If you have already done so, then please ignore my comment! Regards, --KnowledgeHegemonytalk 09:37, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

A new drive has been started to identify the core topics of World War I with the aim of improving their quality before the centenary of the start of World War I in 2014.
Hi Suyog, Mumbai Police page is in need of serious attention.... I think we can improve it, and really need to, esp in light of 26/11.... ready to do some work??? Cheers. Sniperz11@CS 12:11, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
Re:
Well, I agree to the fact that the three pages do seem to be memorial pages at first glance for someone who was not so keenly following Mumbai attacks. This is because most of these articles focus only about the death of the person. They have very little information about the work done when they were holding other posts earlier in their career. But, these pages do qualify the WP:BIO criteria. These men held posts of Commissioner/additional commissioner which are one of the senior posts as per IPS hierarchy. Wikipedia does have articles from other countries for similar posts. Deletion of these articles will be against the principle of WP:CSB project but surely these 3 articles need some work. --GPPande 10:26, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Army & Navy Building.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
Ok. I would try to make a few, but would like you also to try making them once I am done with some. Try out your hand at inkscape. It is nice software easy to use and more over free. We need more Indian Wikipedians doing this often. Currently I am bit busy in real life and it would take sometime for me to get this started. --GPPande 18:53, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

Please save Pakistan occupied Kashmir article from deletion. The article has been hijacked by Wikipedians of Pakistani origin who are demanding its deletion. Remember, once deleted its gonna be extremely hard to recreate it. This is not a wasted attempt because all claims in the article are well sourced. Please consider the following:
1. Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir is the term used by the Indian government, and for legal reasons followed by the media and Indian publishers
2. The term is POV on Wikipedia, but it is real, because it exists, and cannot be *deleted* away.
3. Redirecting PoK to Azad Kashmir is not the solution. Geographically, Azad Kashmir is a small region of the area labelled as PoK. Therefore, territorially speaking, it is inherently false.
4. Additionally, the term Azad, which means free, is also a POV. Free in what sense? From Indian administration?
5. As a responsible encyclopedia, it is our responsibility to mention what the term means, the area under it, who has dubbed the name, usage of the name, the reasons why it is called, and legal usage in India, Pakistan, and major countries/groups. The page should not be more than two-three paragraphs long, and must point to the articles on Jammu and Kashmir, Kashmir, the Kashmir dispute, Azad Kashmir, and FANA.
Wikipedians of Pakistani origin want this removed and replaced with just the Azad Kashmir and Northern Areas article because it speaks the truth. Anybody with an account can vote. If none please create one right away and vote for keep.
Please oppose the page to be deleted. It is requested by Pro Pakistani Wikipedians who want all trace of it to be vanished. Do so immediately!. Key in keep followed by reason.
I am currently a bit busy with the articles which I have submitted at WP:GAN and WP:FLC. Once I'm done with them, I'll have a look at Mumbai Fire Dept? Thanks, KensplanetTC 13:14, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
Ofcourse you can. Everything is available online. I promise to edit it once I get rid of my GANs and FLCs. I don't think you can help List of Governors of Bombay. It may require a lot of time and a deep research. But surely you can decide whether it deserves a FL status at Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of Governors of Bombay. If you think it does, you can Support it. If you think it doesn't, you can Oppose it with reasons. Thanks, KensplanetTC 16:47, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
Education Image
I see that there was a discrepancy with the name. I have fixed the image caption to show the actual name of the building, so there should be no problem now. If you want to change the image, then you need to start a discussion on the talk page for change of image in the education section. As of now, there is no information discrepancy on the Mumbai page so do not revert the edits. Nikkul (talk) 09:24, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
I dunno whether Nikkul is right or no? But Nikkul has pointed out an important rule - Anyone and everyone has to discuss on the Talk page and gain consensus before changing images. I have also reverted your edit. Edit warring this way will lead to Full Page protection for nearly a week. I have also replied what I feel on the Talk Page. Thanks, KensplanetTC 14:12, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
Freind, it's not the question of accuracy or caption. The question is whether we want to have the Nehru Centre Image or the Nehru Science Centre Image. Which Image is required needs to be discussed. In between, would you like to vote on Talk:Mumbai#Image Poll on People and culture. KensplanetTC 14:28, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
Nehru science centre
I have no affiliations to the centre --RedtigerxyzTalk 14:51, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

The Military history WikiProject Newsletter : Issue XXXV (January 2009)
Don't forget the six-monthly Coordinator elections will take place in March for the April-September term. If you want to become more involved in the project, now's the time to start thinking about it!
Following extensive discussion, the structure of the A-Class Medal System has been changed to include three new medals: The A-Class Medal with Oak Leaves, the A-Class Medal with Oakleaves and Swords, and the A-Class Medal with Oakleaves, Swords, and Diamonds, each of which is respectfully awarded after 5, 10, and 20 groups of three A-Class Articles.
The number of our A-Class articles grew by more than 25% during this month, compared to the total number of A-Class articles existent at the end of December.
A drive is underway to identify the core topics of World War I with the aim of improving their quality before the centenary of the start of World War I in 2014.
A Survey is currently underway to determine how MilHist's processes, logistics, and management can be improved.
Abraham, B.S. has been awarded the WikiChevrons with Oak Leaves in recognition of his many valuable contributions to the project as an active reviewer, a thoughtful contributor to military history discussions, a fine content contributor, and a gentleman.
The Contest department has completed its twenty second month of competition, which saw 62 entries. The top scorer this month is Bellhalla with 93 points followed by Abraham, B.S. with 52 points. Hi Suyogaerospace. You seem to have undone a change I made today to Mumbai. Maybe you were correct to do so. However, my change was just to add a sentence of 9 words, complete with a proper reference to a BBC News article from today. Do you not think it was a little harsh that the reason given for undoing my contribution was the 1-word 'vandelism'? Trafford09 (talk) 16:51, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
Hi again Suyogaerospace. Thank you for your reply that you put on my talk page. I have made some points myself, but rather than have our conversation split over separate pages, I've left my points for you on my talk page. Trafford09 (talk) 11:12, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
Coordinator for MILHIST?
Since MILHIST has formal coordinators, it would be the proper thing to remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Coordinators' working group for MILHIST especially since you are representing another project. -MBK004 07:04, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
Mumbai
Hi there, on the Mumbai page, I added internal wiki links to Essel World and Kala Ghoda Arts Festival. You reverted them giving the reason that these are "vandalism". Are you sure this is a right reason? Would including them not benefit the general reader? (Please reply on this page itself. I prefer to have conversations at one place as they are easier to read.)-- Belasd (talk) 01:32, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for clearing that up. Me got confused. --Belasd (talk) 04:03, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
A-Class discussion
Hi, we're starting the discussion on A-Class here today, thanks for signing up! I hope you can present your views. Thanks, Walkerma (talk) 07:39, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Following up on that, how do you think A-Class reviews should be handled by WP:Mumbai? Or do you think they are inappropriate? Should the reviews be coordinated through a central WP:India A-Class review process? I've also contacted Ncmvocalist about WP:India reviews. Feel free to reply here. Thanks! The Military history WikiProject Newsletter : Issue XXXVI (February 2009)
This month has been interesting for MILHIST, as we reorganized a few departments. The Outreach Department has been replaced by the tabs at the top of our totally redesigned project page; thanks to Kirill for the design and Bellhalla for the logo. We also created the Academy, a hub for practical advice about creating, editing, and reviewing quality content. All project members are cordially invited to fill in some of the red links, and new ideas are always welcome.
As you can see on the right, our A-class and featured content is growing quite rapidly; these numbers have now gone up by 45 for the second straight month! Great work! In addition, thanks go out to those who recently helped in reducing the A-class nominations backlog. Reviewers are still needed; if you feel up to it, please stop by and leave comments on an article—every review helps!
Article alerts are now available both for the entire project (on the status page) and for each task force (on the task force page).
The Military history coordinator elections, to appoint coordinators for the period April–October 2009, take place this month. If you are thinking of standing as a candidate, the schedule is as follows:
Nomination period: 00:01 Sat 7 March - 23:59 Fri 13 March
Voting period: 00:01 Sat 14 March - 23:59 Sat 29 March
