You write in that article that Spyker has closed the deal, but where have you got that source from? /Heymid (talk) 11:46, 21 March 2010 (UTC)

Sorry about that, must have forgotten it. But strangely enough, you added the source I got it from yourself when you added the line:
On 23 February 2010 Spyker Cars confirmed it has finalized the deal with General Motors Company to purchase Saab.
Styath (talk) 13:31, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
But that means they have successfully purchased Saab. What do you mean then that the status is currently unknown? No mentioning of that on the swedish Wikipedia. /Heymid (talk) 19:26, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
I have removed that part already. I actually ment that the company has not been formed yet. Styath (talk) 19:40, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
But then you can't write "was planned to be formed", because it has not been formed yet. "Was" means permanent information, but nothing is confirmed at this stage. Tell me what you mean. /Heymid (talk) 20:36, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
It was my intention to say that the name change was planned to happen on the date of the closure. Since that date has passed, I replaced "is" with "was". But you're right, it might be confusing so I removed the text and edited the first sentence a bit. Styath (talk) 20:50, 22 March 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

I appreciate your recent help at my user talk. Keep up the good work Tiderolls 04:12, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

ID-kaart

L.tak (talk) 21:02, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

L.tak (talk) 21:08, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
Gr. Styath (talk) 21:27, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
Styath (talk) 13:43, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

Just to say thanks for fixing the spelling of IJselmeer in Bombing of Enkhuizen - I mistakenly "corrected" it because I hadn't come across the IJ digraph before. I'll know in future! Gonzonoir (talk) 14:12, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

You're welcome! I'm glad I helped someone to understand :) --Styath (talk) 17:03, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

Papiamentu

Please don't make things inaccurate in a quest for consistency. Papiamentu is spoken on Bonaire, not Papiamento. The Dutch language doesn't make a distinction between the two, referring to them both as "Papiaments". The orthography is quite different, and the pronunciation is somewhat different.—Kww(talk) 19:32, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

I see, I wasn't aware of this difference. I just thought that it was different spelling for exactly the same language. My apologies. I will emphasize this difference in the introduction of the Papiamento article. Styath (talk) 19:34, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

Sint Eustatius

I can't see the ISO document you cite. What does it say that would lead you to believe that a Dutch island uses an English spelling for its name?—Kww(talk) 20:08, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

Well it's there, you need to completely scroll down at ISO 3166-1: Newsletter VI-8. I'm relying on administrator The Tom's decision to rename the Sint Eustatius article to Saint Eustatius. I'm not saying that a Dutch island uses an English name, but the English name of whatever place is most commonly used on the English Wikipedia. Styath (talk) 20:16, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
Well, after all they decided that it should be "Sint": Newsletter VI-9. Chanheigeorge (talk) 16:54, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
Lol, that's a petty but thanks for pointing that out :) Styath (talk) 18:40, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

Jan van Beveren

I am unsure of where those sources are getting their information about Jan. I saw Jan 4 days out of the week and had a professional relationship with him, as he was our Director of Training for the Spindletop Select Soccer Club. I appreciate your concern about sharing only the truth about our beloved friend. Additionally, he is survived by his wife, who resides in Dallas, TX, and his son, however, I am unable to confirm, though I believe he resides in Dallas as well. Tomorrow, we will be hosting a memorial for him and his family. The funeral home that is handling his memorial is Broussards and they are located in Beaumont, TX. They have a website and have pending information on his services. Jan was loved dearly by all the girls whom he coached and mentored. They are simply devastated by his passing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Humanradio (talkcontribs) 23:07, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

I sincerely appreciate your close relationship with mister Van Beveren, as do I appreciate your longing to share the truth as well. I can only wish to find a way to verify your identity. Fortunately, I have found a source (another Dutch newspaper) stating that he did pass away in Beaumont, so I adjusted the article once again and replaced all occurences of Houston with Beaumont, TX. I wish you all the best in these difficult times.

Time Zone Map

Well, most of my information began from research on what places use dst, and what places don't, I found this map[1] very helpful for that part, Then I researched on standard times world wide[2], however this map was only so helpful, it had all of russia listed entirely wrong, as they are on daylight savings time year round, thus listed as not changing times on the map of who uses dst or not. So I realized to make a good draft for my map, I had to research country by country, and find its various time zones, using help from several websites[3][4][5], once I tackled the big countries, it got easier, all of africa except nambia and morocco used standard time and that is were map two was extreemly helpful. I had made many mistakes, and had to redo the map three times, before having an almost perfect map, published, and made only subtle changes from then on. I'm not sure if I have answered the big question, I am going to re-research, and try to track down more of the the sources I used, just give me some time. – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 23:01, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

I would have to say the most helpful websites I used where http://www.worldtimezone.com/, http://www.timetemperature.com/, and this website we are on now.– Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 23:09, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
One Last Thing, I am not sure if this matters, the base map I used was this filePhoenix B 1of3 (talk) 01:45, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
Your Welcome, I am looking forward to seeing the finished product of your {{Current hour in time zone}} template– Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 17:37, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
Give Me a few minutes, I think I know a website that mentions each countries dst end and start times. – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 17:47, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
Here is one [6], but it only shows our current year, this one [7] is much more specific, I will continue to look for more.– Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 17:51, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
Your Welcome, here is one more[8], and a piece of advise to remember, when its summer in the northern hemisphere, its winter in the southern, and visa versa, I realy hope this information is reliable.– Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 17:57, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
I like that, feel free to edit my map if you find anything I didn't.– Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 18:04, 16 September 2011 (UTC)

Thank You, I hadn't noticed that, your right, I have the western aleutians on the far right of the map correct, but the eastern aleutions closer to alaska mislabled, good eye, i'm in the proccess of fixing my map anyway, belarus is now on permanent DST, Ukraine might stop it all together. – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 17:43, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

If you find any other mistakes, please let me know :) – Phoenix B 1of3 (talk) 18:07, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

Do you know, people outside the US have no idea what a Bill is ? and the article doesn't explain it either. I would have thought that the top of the lead should be the place for it, but people don't like the way I express what I think it is. Penyulap talk 01:13, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

Well clarifying all this stuff is not a bad thing since this bill may affect many people from outside the US too. And one more link in the lead doesn't hurt right? Styath (talk) 01:51, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
Yes a link is ok, but usually the guidelines seem to sway towards an article explaining itself, without relying heavily on other articles. With the ISS article, a google list of dictionary definitions helped to convince people of the validity of the first line. So it led from there. I can help find guidelines there. We need to take it to the talkpage, and get some help from outside that page, from experts. That helped in the ISS article too. Penyulap talk 02:24, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

UBX

Hi,

I suppose you don't mind me using your userbox with the time in our place. But thanx for it, anyway. Greetz, Dick Bos (talk) 21:00, 2 April 2012 (UTC)

Not at all, the more people use it the happier I am! :) Thayts (talk) 20:52, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
Well, apart from putting it on my userpage I actually tried to "export" the userbox to wikisource-en. But my knowledge of these things is too small to get it going. If you do have some spare time.......I would be very happy if you could show me how to get it going on wikisource. Greetings (from Amersfoort), Dick Bos (talk) 19:12, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
That might be difficult since the userbox uses a number of templates that are only available on this Wikipedia. I have no idea if templates can be referenced from other wikis... Thayts (talk) 21:20, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

hoofdstad?

He Thayts (interessante naam zo)!

re:Template:EU Dependencies

Hello Thayts!

Thanks for your message! I'm not really sure what I am refering to in my edit: I'm having a bit of a hard time remembering all the way back to March of 2011. I may have been refering to this edit or maybe a discussion on a different talk page, I can't be sure. You said, "Legally, the countries of Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten have the same status as the country of the Netherlands..." this is correct. But we need to be careful; which Netherlands are we refering to? The Kingdom of the Netherlands or the country of the Netherlands, they are not the same. So when you go on to say, "...but on the other hand those three Caribbean countries are still dependent on the Netherlands (regarding defense for example)." this becomes problematic because I am not sure which you refer to. The two terms are not equivilent. Even though the 4 countries are equal within the kingdom, one (the Netherlands) dominates the rest - but that does not alter the countries equal standing. Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten look only to the kingdom, legally, in matters of foreign affairs and defense, not the country of the Netherlands. So are they dependencies? Its certainly debate worthy, though I think not. They have equal standing, rather than a colony or a protectorate, so I don't beleive they are dependancies. I've been through this discussion a few times, especially in relation to the constituent countries of the UK and sometimes Denmark's unique policy of "Rigsfælleskabet".

I'm very interested to hear what you think about this, its an often overlooked topic.

Warm Regards, Outback the koala (talk) 03:09, 10 October 2012 (UTC)

What do you think of merging Dutch Caribbean and Caribbean Netherlands into each other? They seem to be duplicating quite a bit. Outback the koala (talk) 03:13, 10 October 2012 (UTC)

Hi Thayts, please stop deleting my contributions in the "See also" section in Netherlands-related articles. The "See also" genenrally adds extra infomation to the article. For example, someone just read the article European Netherlands may want to know something about the Caribbean Netherlands, despite the Caribbean Netherlands itself being a completely different region. The links I have added in the "See also" section are important articles concerning the Netherlands, thus worth adding.

Happy editing. 110.5.117.243 (talk) 09:59, 17 October 2012 (UTC)

Yes that's right, that's why I didn't remove Caribbean Netherlands from that article. But the rest is simply not directly related or has already been mentioned in the article itself.  thayts t  10:32, 17 October 2012 (UTC)
By the way, Caribbean Netherlands could be removed anyway since it is central to the article already.  thayts t  10:55, 17 October 2012 (UTC)
