January 2018[edit]

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Yunshui  11:56, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

Automation is essential part of business and it is a very useful subject

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that
  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.
Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. - Barek (talkcontribs) - 21:12, 28 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to request an unblock because it is a very serious situation for me. I am a new marketing Intern in a company and I have never used Wikipedia before. I was given a task to make the page. As a duty, I had to make an account and start using the Wikipedia article. I was so naive that I copy pasted content from our website and clicked publish. The reasons for my block was That I am doing advertising and promotion, I swear at that moment for me advertising not even a thing to consider, I was just trying to learn how to use the Wikipedia. It had blocked my work IP address and their name just because of my mistake. I don't want to lose my job and I will not do anything like this again. I didnt know how to request an unblock as well, I didnt know how to convince administration but now I have explained everything. I want to assure administrator that it is not necessary to block me and I will not do any damage or disruption to Wikipedia. I will make useful contributions to Wikipedia. I know the cause of block and will not repeat the same thing. Please unblock my account, I request you to believe me. This is the whole truth, for the job's sake give me a chance to fix it.

Decline reason:

You have not picked an appropriate username and have not convinced us you understand why your edits were inappropriate, nor have you agreed to refrain from editing about the Thebes Group, if we unblock you. If you were not trying to advertise then you lack sufficient competence to edit here. Your article was blatantly promotional. Yamla (talk) 22:04, 28 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I understand the reason for my account block, the reason was promotion and the username represented a business which is acceptable, I clearly understand that I should not be advertising and promoting on Wikipedia. I also undestand that my username should not represent a busines or organization. I understand my previous edits were inappropriate and I will not repeat that again. I want to assure the administrator that I will refrain from editing about the Thebes Group. I will not do any damage or disruption to Wikipedia. I also assure you that I will follow all the rules and I will really appreciate if you can please unblock my account

Decline reason:

We cannot keep unblock requests open indefinitely and sufficient time has been allowed for you to choose an acceptable username. If you wish to be unblocked you need both to choose a new username and explain what edits you intend to make that are unconnected with the Thebes Group. You are not permitted to remove declines for existing blocks. Do not do so again. --Yamla (talk) 23:18, 28 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Yamla, I understand. Could you please be kind enough to help me with the blocked account. I literally understand my edits in future will be according to Wikipedia guidelines and there will be no problem in future. Please accept my request for unblocking IP and blocked account. Many Many Thanks! Thebes Group (talk) 23:29, 28 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Comment I really think that proposed username is too close to promotional. WP:Username policy is somewhat nuanced. You might reread it. You also need to address the other aspects of your block. I need you to affirm you understand to not edit about Thebes Group. Just parroting back the decline boilerplate is not sufficient to demonstrate actual understanding and adherence. Will leave the unblock request in case other admins disagree.--Dlohcierekim (talk) 00:02, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. Thebes Group, you will need to pick another name. Nihlus 03:25, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you everyone, I will come back with another name. Please do consider my unblocking. Thebes Group (talk) 10:01, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

unblock conditions[edit]

When you have chosen a conforming user name, we will consider unblocking you. To be unblocked:

If you have no interest in editing Wikipedia beyond writing about your organisation, then you will not be unblocked. If this is the case, I recommend you consider alternative outlets.

I'm sorry that this message could not be more favourable, but the goal of Wikipedia is to build a neutrally worded encyclopedia whose articles are about notable topics based on previously published writings.
