I have cleared a majority of the info from my site. I believe it should be sufficient so that I will not be bothered anymore. I clear my talk page because I get harassed too much. GeoJoe1000 (talk) 16:34, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

Although you may using the term as shorthand, you should understand the page is not your site. If you consider good faith inquiries from other editors "harassment" and "bother", then you are missing the point of this project. As you have decided to discuss the situation I will remove the MfD tag and not proceed at this point. My question still stands, what is the usefulness of you user page? Tiderolls 16:42, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

The material on my user page is for my benefit and the benefit of anybody else. I understand that Wikipedia is not my own site, but I still have the right to edit my user page as I please as long as it does not harm anybody else. I could ask the usefulness of your user page as well. If you would like to me to add more to make my page more useful, be my guest. Whatever it takes to make everyone happy. GeoJoe1000 (talk) 16:48, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

Benefit how? That part that is not repeating content from articles is speculation. That benefits no one. Tiderolls 16:50, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

After reading Wikipedia's deletion policy, I found that articles that are untrue or not beneficial should be deleted, but this is not an article. It is a user page. I understand that my page is still bothering you. I have moved everything to my sandbox. GeoJoe1000 (talk) 16:56, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

That is a step in the right direction. Now we can move on to your other accounts. Multiple accounts are only permitted in certain instances. Can you explain how your use of multiple accounts meets any of those instances? Tiderolls 17:00, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

What are these instances that you speak of? GeoJoe1000 (talk) 17:02, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

You can play it that way if you choose, but I will simply have to take the matter to a sockpuppet investigation. Please approach the matter with more honesty. Tiderolls 17:04, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

I am answering honestly. I do not know about this multiple account policy GeoJoe1000 (talk) 17:06, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

My question concerned your use of multiple accounts; regardless of your knowledge regarding policy, you need to answer for your multiple accounts. In the event you are actually in the dark: WP:Sockpuppet. Tiderolls 17:10, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

I can tell you right now my account are not for the use of sock puppetry. I made them because I didn't know how to make subpages. I would delete them all right now for you if I could. What do you want me to do about this? I can promise you they will stay inactive if that is what you wish. GeoJoe1000 (talk) 17:13, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

If you mark the pages {{db-userreq}} I can delete them for you. Tiderolls 17:16, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

I shall do it at once. I apologize for any improper behavior. I know you're just trying to do the right thing. GeoJoe1000 (talk) 17:19, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for your patience. Tiderolls 17:21, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

May I ask you to remove the deletion warning from my user page at some time? GeoJoe1000 (talk) 17:24, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for deleting my other accounts for me. Once again, I apologize for any inconvenience. GeoJoe1000 (talk) 17:30, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

Apologies, I thought you had taken the notice down (which was a bad idea, but as you were co-operating I did not want to put bureaucracy before common sense). It's done now. Regards Tiderolls 17:34, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

It is clearly noted on these sandboxes that they are not articles. They do not have to comply with the rules for actual articles. They are for my benefit only. They have to do nothing more. GeoJoe1000 (talk) 14:00, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

This is exactly what Wikipedia says about the sandbox: "[I]t must not be used for malicious purposes, and policies such as no personal attacks, civility, and copyrights still apply." I have not broken any of these rules. Therefore, all of the material in my sandboxes is legit. GeoJoe1000 (talk) 14:14, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

User subpages are not to be used to collect and hold random content. If you cannot demonstrate how your sandbox content is constructive, it could be considered for deletion. Tiderolls 14:51, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

Where does it say that? GeoJoe1000 (talk) 14:58, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

I see what your saying, but a sandbox does not fit into that category. GeoJoe1000 (talk) 15:00, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

A sandbox should be more temporary than most subpages. A sandbox is for testing and developing article content. Not warehousing content for an indeterminate period of time. And you have yet to answer the question that I've pose from the beginning of this duscussion; how is this content beneficial for Wikipedia? Tiderolls 16:33, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

Is there anywhere else to put this kind of information on Wikipedia without breaking the guidelines? GeoJoe1000 (talk) 16:41, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

Again, your response is not an answer. I'm at work presently, but I will be checking on the deletion process after dinner. Regards Tiderolls 16:50, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

Alright. I give up. I have deleted one sandbox and almost deleted the other one. The data there is minuscule and should be allowed. GeoJoe1000 (talk) 19:51, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

Okay, I have done everything you have asked, albeit with some hesitation. Please, answer one question for me. Is there anywhere else I can put random information on Wikipedia without breaking the guidelines? If not on Wikipedia, is there some other site? And to make sure there are no loose ends, that content was not beneficial to Wikipedia as a whole. I am sorry it bothered you so much. GeoJoe1000 (talk) 20:03, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

Your apology is gracious, though I was never "bothered". Wikipedia is not a webhost, so I do not see how random information has a place on this project. I'm no expert on webhosting, but you might try here: [1] Tiderolls 23:46, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

ANI again...

Hello, Dave. I'm thinking soliciting my comment would negate any appearance of neutrality if I were to comment there. However, I don't mind offering an opinion; the OP may have made their proposal with the best of intentions but it appears overreaching and overreacting. I see no attempt by the OP to discuss their concerns on your user talk; bad form, that. I did not really examine the diffs because I don't really care if you engage in "grave dancing"; I view grave dancing as a waste of time more than a behavioral problem. Do you grave dance? If you do, my advice would be to stop. If I came across an edit summary that concerned me I would have no problem asking you about it because I know you would listen. Anyways, it's only moral support but it appears from looking at the thread that you don't have much to worry about. See ya 'round Tiderolls 18:02, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
Yes, ignore them. If they wish to waste their time IP hopping and open proxy editing to pursue an ineffective crusade, why should we care? I know I don't. I've been a target in the past and have no reason to think it won't happen again *shrugs*.... Tiderolls 19:48, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

I'm more concerned with the unwarranted vandalism warning, being that most if not all other of the 'g's are lower case. CTJF83 06:35, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
There was no vandalism warning. Are any of the other 'g's at the beginning of a sentence? The edit was non-grammatical; as such it was unconstructive. If a particular behavior is persistant and is not addressed through normal user talk discussion then the next step is taking the issue to the proper noticeboard (in this instance AN/I) or contacting an administrator with the details. Tiderolls 18:18, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

Hi Tide Rolls -

On the Major article, I am going to remove the IDF information, which seems to have been added by some sort of IP SPA, and is not appropriate to the article itself. I note that you've reverted some IPs that have tried to remove it before. Please do not think I am edit warring here; I am returning the article to a more neutral footing. If you have a question, let me know. Risker (talk) 04:46, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

Hey, Tiderolls, would you be willing to take a look at the talk page and editing pattern for this IP? She's got a widening pattern of disruptive editing on Food Network related articles, along with a few stray other elimination-style reality shows. AussieLegend and I, and more recently Agent86 have been trying to get her to slow down, read a variety of policy-related articles so she understands notability, consensus and editing practices, among others, and to learn to use the talk page and edit summaries. So far, that's been met with stoney silence. She's got a scad of disruptive editing warnings on her talk page, and one block already. Every so often, she'll promise to use the talk page more, and will sporadically (albeit not always appropriately) then goes back to disruptive editing. She's currently changing episode titles on List of Good Eats episodes, an article that's been stable for a considerable period of time, with no sourcing, no edit summary; in the process, she's removing the U.S. date format and returning the article to U.K. date format, a long-standing problem I fixed the other day. Worse, at times she interprets what the judges on Food Network Star (season 8) and arbitrarily labels contestants as judges' favorites or winners when they were not explicitly given that designation -- see her rare comment on that on the show's talk page. There's no response to warnings on her talk page, just the occasional hollow promise to use the talk page and constant disruptive editing. We're tearing our hair out, the first block had a very temporary effect, and ANI got us nowhere (literally). A couple admins have left messages for her on her talk page, but she ignores them as well, and the behavior continues unabated. I noticed you handled another disruptive IP today, and thought maybe you'd be willing to take a look and see what can be done. There's got to be a competence issue here; she refuses to attempt to learn appropriate practices, and cannot seem to differentiate between what might be done on a fan page from what is appropriate here. Thank you for anything you can do! --Drmargi (talk) 07:56, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

Hi, Drmargi. I can check into this when time allows. However, if the matter is time-sensitive you may ask around for help elsewhere. During the week my schedule is unpredictable. Regards Tiderolls 10:27, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
I'm not sure I'd describe it as time sensitive, at least not at the moment. But it is persistent, which is why I contacted you, who I see as decisive. Unfortunately, and this is not a criticism, you're not the first admin who's been too busy to take the problem on. Let's give you some time to take a look, and if the problem gets any worse, then I'll ask around a bit more. Thank you! --Drmargi (talk) 16:33, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
Hi, Drmargi. After looking over the IP's recent edits I've left a note on their talk. I will check in from time to time to assess progress. I appreciate your hard work in this area and I know AussieLegend's valuable contributions from previous experience. Let me know if I can be of further service. Regards Tiderolls 01:33, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, Tide. I can't seem to get through to her at all, but you've seen my voluminous messages. The hell of it is that she makes some good edits, and if she'd learn to edit properly, she could potentially be a very good editor. But the good edits come with so many problems and an incredible amount of disruption. The Good Eats situation is classic; she clearly wants to reorder the tables by broadcast date, but doesn't discuss or even use an edit summary, then reverts anything that gets in her way, constructive or no. I have no idea whether the pays the slightest attention to what's on her talk page, but history suggests not. I'm glad you'll keep an eye on her. That's what we've badly needed from an admin. --Drmargi (talk) 04:51, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the help with this. Signs are good that she's finally listening (hope I don't jinx it by saying this!) She'll need monitoring a bit longer before we can let our guard down, but your presence on her talk page made a difference. Now if she'd just register and try to learn how to edit properly!! On to jousting with a new one, who appears to be a teenager IP editor inclined to stamp her foot petulantly in edit summaries. I'm becoming a one-woman task force on IP editors making their own rules. --Drmargi (talk) 22:08, 1 July 2012 (UTC)

Vasco, como vai? I'll check into it. Thanks...até mais Tiderolls 02:04, 8 July 2012 (UTC)

Clarification

Tiderolls, First off I want to deeply apologize for deleting your comments on the AN/I board. I want you to know that I did not intentionally delete your comments. What happened was that I made a comment while you had just submitted one so there was an edit conflict which you won because yours was in first. I clicked save after I got the notice which, unbeknownst to me, deleted your comment and inserted mine. I never meant for that to happen. Keystoneridin (speak) 02:58, 8 July 2012 (UTC)

I believe you. My intent was not to beat you up while you were having a bad day. For the record, I wasn't put out by the deletion of the post so much as the impression the deletion left one with regarding your attentiveness to detail. It's easy to make mistakes here; God knows I've done my share. What makes or breaks is the frequency of our mistakes and that we learn how to avoid making them. As previously mentioned, slow down; when editors approach you, listen. You don't have to bend over, but listen. If you ever have a question let me know. If I can't answer it, I'll find someone that can. See ya 'round Tiderolls 03:12, 8 July 2012 (UTC)
