If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

Chinese military history task force

Hello. I am approaching you with this message because you have contributed to some aspect of Chinese military history on Wikipedia and/or have put your name on WikiProject Military history's member list and indicated your expertise in some field of Chinese military history.

Here's the deal. We need a place to coordinate work on Chinese military history. Therefore, I am proposing to start a task force for this purpose. But before we can go ahead with it, I need to make sure that there is enough contributors to sustain this effort. The China-related topics notice board died of neglect and if we create this task force we need to be committed to it or it will suffer the same fate. I'm asking for your opinions on this matter, whether it's a good idea or not, if you'd be interested in it, and what suggestions you might have. 2005 Pan-Blue visits to mainland China and Battle of Yamen proof reading

Hi there, just to let you know that I just completed a quick proof-reading of these articles. There were very few changes at all to be made, but I corrected a couple of minor spelling and grammar issues, and some altered the wikification on a couple of points in the Yamen article. tunnel warfare

I suggest collecting all info possible before rewriting the article. digging tunnels was used throughout the world against fortifications. It is much cheaper than siege engines. There have been some archeological remains found in Mesopotamia of a battle underground between Romans and Persians, where both sides where not able to recover their wounded and suddenly buried alive.

In ancient Germany tunnellike defence sytems turned whole areas into guerilla tresholds after the Roman occupation. I can fetch some articles about Roman legions being afraid of that, because these made it possible to suddenly attack an unprepared army in marching formation.

In the first world war, tunnel war with modern devices started in some places, like the Alps. Austrians and Italians battled with explosives and Medieval flails inside and on the the glaciers.

I do not like this idea of a "concensus". After all, I am the person writing the article. I should be free to choose any style I wish, asuming it is legable/workable.

Wikiprojects cannot and should not dictate what I can and cannot do and I feel this is what it is about.

Er...let me try to put this in a way where it doesn't sound offensive, hopefully. You are not the only person writing the article, and we should all try to respect each other's views when cooperating on an article. That is why we need consensus. Wikiprojects, as you said, cannot dictate what individual editors do, but they provide coordination and consistency for a subject area.... And that is needed for the benefit of the readers, as the readers are, ultimately, who Wikipedia serves. _dk 04:20, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

Yes, wikiprojects bring coordination and consistency. Neither the difference in the templates, nor the debate provide any additional consistency. Both list provide same info in almost identical manner and are consistant with norms. Coordination means they work as a group to improve a list, not dictate it. They as a group should be working for a concensus, willing to comprimise. I comprimised, why cannot they?

The OMG template was created long before its counterpart as a part of Anime wikiproject. The LOE wikiproject replace the OMG usage (as it did on exel saga as they proudly express it) generating inconsistancy. Anime wikiproject should be coordinating anime related articles for consistancy.

The point is, is the difference in the two versions worth the effort?

Coquitlam Station

Regarding categories of Battle Royale characters

I noticed you made categories for Battle Royale characters -

However you didn't index them properly - it's true that Japanese names have the family name first, BUT in English we tend to switch Japanese names so it conforms to our order. This isn't an exception with Battle Royale - All English versions switch the naming order (E.G. Nanahara Shuya becomes Shuya Nanahara) to conform with our naming order. Therefore Nanahara should be indexed by Nanahara, Shuya WhisperToMe 16:34, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
