Bufyverse stuff

[edit]

Thanks for your recent edits to the 'Slayer' page. It is really good that you indicate which episodes you are getting information from which really helps out since the edits you make are more verifiable. I think this is the direction the Buffyverse Wikiproject is movng - improving the quality of the Buffy articles, patially by the simple act of Citing sources. Keep up the good work. Also you maybe intested in joining Wikipedia:WikiProject Buffyverse. -- Paxomen 00:01, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jeff-El. I wish I could say it was my keen eyesight at work, but mostly it's my significantly more keen Firefox browser, which underlines spelling errors in red ;) --Nalvage 17:43, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits to Fallen Angel

[edit]

Dude, AWESOME amount of work you did inserting and formatting all those sources to the article! And I can see from the above post regarding the Buffyverse that you do this often. Good for you! And since you're kinda new to WP, welcome! Just one thing, though: I noticed that you linked the writer, artists, and publishing companies each time they appeared in a formatted reference tag. Just so you know, wikilinking a term more than once in the same section is considered excessive. Duplicate wikilinks of the same term is appropriate only if the two occurrences are distant from one another, as for example, if they're sections apart. Although technically all those reference tags are made in different sections, they show up in the article in the same section: the References section. I removed most of the duplicate links, keeping only their first mention in the article, and their first mention in the References section. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style (links) for more on this. And thanks again! :-) Nightscream 07:10, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Just out of curiosity, what's the source for that? Do you have a url? Thanks again. :-) Nightscream 06:12, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I saw your comment on the Angel merging issue ("Cleaning up and expanding them would be wonderful...but I know I don't have the resources to do it, which would likely require at least one guidebook. I'd love to see it happen, though.") and wanted to say that I've been compiling lists of online sources that can be gone through, if you're game. I've started todo lists for these episodes:

Also, on Tim Minear's personal website he has something to say about every episode of the first season. Another thing that can be done without any extra resources is going through the episodes and removing the quotes sections, integrating trivia into production details, and removing some of the excessive details from the plot summaries, almost all of which are too long. I've also started moving the "Plot summary" into the lead (for example, "Soul Purpose". Kweeket 21:15, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Pike-Buffyverse-The_Origin-Dark_Horse_Comic.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Videmus Omnia Talk 00:51, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Van-tal.JPG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Van-tal.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fair use rationale for Image:BuffyTheChainCover.jpg

Non-free rationale for File:Warrenseason8.JPG

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Warrenseason8.JPG. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
