Re: Mediation Committee Business
Thank you for the prompt response; I'll respond on the respective page. Thanks! Flcelloguy (A note?) 23:09, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, the neutral was just temporary; I would like some more time but am definitely leaning towards support and will probably do so within the next few days, if not sooner. While I would like to see some more experience on your part (and also echo Drini's sentiment), to use an old cliché, I like what I see. Some things that are holding me back, right now, though, are your views on Jimbo's "ultimate" power - while I respect your views, I would like to disagree with them (and the account is Dannyisme, by the way) - and the relative lack of experience. Thanks! Flcelloguy (A note?) 21:41, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

Incorrect Admonishment
Wisden17 told me I vandalised the page on the movie The Notebook, which I had not even seen until he provided a link to it. I resent the standardised debasing language he used (vandalised, etc.), and the sloppy application of justice.
Be more careful in whom you call out for these things.
On a side note, it would be interesting to see what the vandalism was that I was accused of. Just out of curiosity.
- I'm not aware of any warning be given to you, and from looking at my contributions and your talk page none appears to have been given. Are you, therefore, referring to an edit you made whilst not logged in (i.e. simple using an IP Address)? I appear to have warned User:206.148.148.56 regarding vandalism to this page, but that was over 2 months ago, is this what you are talking about? --Wisden17 16:25, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Footnotes
You're right, it doesn't look quite right. In a similar example, in the FAC for Torchic, the main editor was encouraged to put a footnote at the end of a lengthy paragraph which was drawn from one main source, rather than put a redundant footnote after every fact. Explain in the footnote, though, that all of the information in the paragraph/section/whatever is in the referenced material, not just the fact that the footnote is next to. Cheers! I'm afraid I have to run IE because my computer's having issues right now, which at the present time are unknown. I've tried other programs, but my computer seems to crash with others... I have to get it looked at soon. As for a screen shot, I'll try, but with my computer the way it is right now, it doesn't seems likely. Sorry I can't be of more help, RyanGerbil10 00:49, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
- If you don't mind, I took it into my own hands to fix picture alignment issues, and I found a spelling error, which I fixed. Happy to be of help, RyanGerbil10 14:50, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
Thanks!

Your userpage
No problem, all in a day's work. I was checking your listing on WP:AIV and the IP just happened to have vandalised your page 10 seconds before I loaded his contribs - nice and simple, just how it should be :-) --Cactus.man ✍ 17:08, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
Re: Roosevelt
Thanks for the comment, but I'm still at a loss. I've read the guidelines. In changing Teddie to Teedie, all I was doing was correcting a typo (as I've done about 1000 times before, as un unregistered user)--not asserting a disputable fact or matter of opinion. A Google search of "teedie roosevelt" provides ample evidence in support of the change. Have the rules changed wildly in the past 48 hours? Or did I just stumble onto a particularly sensitive page? Thanks. Azaner 23:57, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

Could you update me on the status of this mediation? The last word I see is me saying go ahead and them saying they'd trimmed the parties some; did it ever get off the ground, or have we all missed each other in passing? I was closing out stale cases today and couldn't find any report on what was taking place; when you get the chance, if you could either post a note there on the mediation's page, or to my talk page, it would be greatly appreciated. :) Essjay (Talk • Connect) 15:13, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

Hello Wisden17. For an example of a page which uses a gallery to show numerious photographs take a look at the page for tower bridge in London. --Newton2 16:35, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

You said your willing to help with the Pokémon articles, so the thing I wanted help with is that I need someone to add
{{PCP}} {{talkheader}}
to every single Pokémon article's talk page.
Please leave a note to say you have read this, thanks. If you do a good job, i'll give you a barnstar as my thanks. I Love Minun (talk) 19:51, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
Hi - I've commented on the politics portal's WP:FPORT nomination and declared my support. It is a very tidy portal and its ergonomics are very good. Another user has been particularly critical of the portal - I would not like you to take this too seriously - read my comments before reacting too much. There is a problem at the moment that conventions are being assumed as gospel, but conventions are there to be broken. Furthermore, I am a strong believer in the individuality of portals - each portal should reflect its topic area in a sensible way.
Anyway, I thought I'd just drop you a line to let you know my views. Good portal - keep up the good work. DJR (Talk) 21:25, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Sorry I had to leave, and left the circumcision topic mediation unattended. Is there anything I can still do?
There are three editors that dominate ... agree to fixes (accurate study "conclusions," ect.), then slash or revert to fit their personal perspective (but luckily left all the pro-circ bias).
I plan to rewrite the intro(s), then parallel publish ... at least in the Rfc. Would you like to see the outline and articles first?TipPt 04:36, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

I've noticed you on the templating for several Pokemon talk pages. I had a question on Raikou, it's on the talk page, and I'm really dying of my own curiousity. Is there any way you could check into the matter? Niki Whimbrel 18:41, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
Ah, well. Thanks anyway. Hey, can you at somepoint format my talk page like this? Only if you get a chance, of course! Thanks! Niki Whimbrel 18:47, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

Eventually on the archiving. I don't need much help, as I don't do much other than new page patrolling and minor notes on my personal interests. But I will write your username down as one of the people I won't enslave when I take over the world. You rock! Niki Whimbrel 18:53, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

Hm, I only get 35 google hits for the full company name and under 700 for the header of this comment. While doing so I found out it's a copyvio of their own website, supporting the WP:NOT promotion claim. I wasn't really stressing about it, just didn't know if you knew about prod or not as I hadn't seen you around before. We don't actually have a dispute so I'm going to stop writing before I talk myself into one. —WAvegetarian•(talk) 23:43, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

I'm sorry that the mediation didn't work out, but thank you for your effort. I had my doubts about the effectiveness of mediation from the start, given the issue and the people involved, but felt that I had to try. Al 04:41, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Circumcusion topic
You experienced a glimpse of the chaos...
What do you think of my idea to rewrite (mostly new outline and intro) ... to be reviewed by editors like yourself ... and, if much better than the existing text, to replace the existing?
I've spent many hours trying to work with (mostly) Jakew ... a total waste of time. The current topic is a reflection of his experience.TipPt 23:09, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Medical Analysis of Circumcision mediation
Thanks for your efforts - they were much appreciated, even if the outcome wasn't positive. Jayjg (talk) 21:15, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
Circumcision topic
We fail the reader because...
There is inadequate coverage of the erogenous sensation produced by stimulation to the frenulum. Circumcisions always reduce and/or damage the frenulum. Erogenous potential is always lost, because some of the frenular delta is removed. Parents should know to instruct doctors to NOT perform a frenectomy, and otherwise protect the frenulum during a circumcision. Easily cited, but blocked by Jakew.
There are several sexual effects that are not mentioned. (stretch receptors lack mobility, loss of estrogen receptors, loss of mucosa, and loss of glans sensitivity). Easily cited, but blocked by Jakew. Jakew insists on listing studies (generally showing poor results to circs) on adults, and forces the topic to imply significance to neonatal circs. The Table misleads the reader.
Medical benefits are contested, with at least one medical association (BMA) stating that there may be none. There is probably a reduction in UTI's during an infants first year, and a reduction in HIV and STD risk. UTI's are easily (more easily that by circumcision) with antibiotics, and that washing after sex is as beneficial as a circ, with respect to HIV and STD's. The reader should know that daily washing with water prevents most penile diseases in adults.
Medical benefits should not be detailed twice, suggesting importance. Parents have their kids circ'd for "cultural ritural" reasons. Easily cited, but blocked by Jakew.
The topic should review authoritative medical association statements on circumcision. Jakew generally only permits American assoc. statements.TipPt 14:11, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
