Jonathan Idema

[edit]

Thanks for the feedback. I haven't yet gone through the entire article, but I appreciate the work you're putting into it; these things are definitely a work in progress. As for image use, I was looking into it as well, but everything seemed to be rights-managed. Alcarillo 20:22, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And in recognition to the excellent media coverage you've included, I award you with:

The Original Barnstar
For successfully mining the media coverage on Jonathan Idema Alcarillo 17:00, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Congrats! Alcarillo 17:00, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there. The next major task is to turn the bulleted lists in the media coverage sections into regular text. I'll work on that when I can. Apparently my wikipedia work has been noticed by someone in the Idema camp who thinks I'm Joseph A. Cafasso, an Idema internet-nemesis, apparently. I'm not kidding. Thanks for the barnstar! It was a nice surprise. Alcarillo 15:07, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Shield Group Security, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -WarthogDemon 00:48, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is a law site. Please review the following text from asbestosresource.com,

"Please contact us with any questions or if you or someone you love has mesothelioma or another asbestos disease. If you are looking for a mesothelioma attorney, we suggest contacting RPWB, LLC." The site is sponsored by RPWB which is a law firm which can be found at rpwb.com. Boston2austin 06:22, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The other reference mesothelioma-center.com is a lead generator for law firms.

Neither link should be used as they endorse law firms. This is particularly a problem on the mesothelioma entry as well. Cases of asbestos cancer offer easy money to law firms and wikipedia has long been an avenue for firms who insert their links (not for pagerank from wikip which uses nofollow) but from sites that pull/syndicate entries from Wikipedia.

I don't want to get into an edit war or anything like that. Please get back to me on my talk page. Boston2Wiaustin 06:28, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Asbestos

[edit]

I just want to thank you for your efforts on this article. There are a number of people on Wikipedia that go to any length to criticize lawyers. Maybe sometimes with good reason. Often with no good reason. It was lawyers that finally exposed the cover-up of asbestos. I just wish it had occurred much earlier than it did. Today, our family finally received a small settlement from Babcox-Wilcox --- TWENTY FOUR years after my dad died from mesothelioma and two years after my mother died. Frankly, I had forgotten about it. I'm sure my mother would have wished her last 20 years to have been with her husband. I know I missed having a dad. Was that worth $50,000? Not on your life. All that did for me is bring back memories, and the kind of grief that has never gone away. Not even after 24 years. Please don't stop contributing information on these issues. The history of asbestos is or should be a cautionary tale of what happens when we believe corporations will "self regulate" out of their own self interest. Ayn Rand was not a historian. She was a fiction writer. It is a shame that some people do not seem to understand the difference.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:TFdagger cover.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:TFdagger cover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fair use rationale for Image:American Experience logo.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:American Experience logo.png. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 01:44, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Neurobiology picture, chicken neuron comment

[edit]

Hi, I am so new to editing Wikipedia (this is our class project) but I was looking at the picture of the neuron within the neurobiology article and read in the comment that was taken with conical microscope. I use confocal microscope to generate pictures like this one, and was wondering if maybe this is a spelling mistake. Koliber (talk) 18:47, 26 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
