Wikipedia Visiting Scholars Barbara Page Barbara (WVS) and Casey Monahan Seattle have been working with the University of Pittsburgh Library System and its Archives Service Center since the Fall of 2015, entering digitized content, historical content and training University librarians.
Project scope and purpose
[edit]This project aims to coordinate the sharing of resources between The University of Pittsburgh Library System the Wikimedia community in a relationship of mutual benefit. The Archives collects, preserves, describes, and provides access to documentary evidence on a large variety of topics, especially those related to Western Pennsylvania and Pittsburgh that aligns with Wikipedia’s goal to provide “free access to the sum of all human knowledge.”
Metrics/Statistical Data
[edit]Efforts are underway to develop statistical data related to traffic from Wikimedia websites to the Archives’ website, as well as usage statistics of images, data and other related materials.
Funding
[edit]Since this is new endeavor, funding is anticipated but the application process has not yet begun.
