Nomination statement
Hello, I’m Vanamonde93, and I’m applying for Checkuser permissions. As an administrator I try to chip away at admin backlogs as they arise. In recent years the SPI backlog has tended to be one of our most persistent, despite the best efforts of our excellent clerks and CUs: so when ARBCOM indicated they saw a need for more CUs, I decided to put my name forward. Thank you for your consideration.
Standard questions for all candidates (Vanamonde93)[edit]
  1. Please describe any relevant on-Wiki experience you have for this role.
    I have been an active editor for 10 years, an administrator for 7, and an Oversighter for 5. I have done a fair bit of work in vandalism patrol and arbitration enforcement, two areas that often throw up socking situations; I’ve also done some work as a patrolling admin at SPI. I also have on-wiki experience with ARBIPA and IRANPOL topics where socking is rife.
  2. Please outline, without breaching your personal privacy, what off-Wiki experience or technical expertise you have for this role.
    I have had real-world experience and training dealing with sensitive personal information. I do not have technical skills particularly relevant to SPI.
  3. Do you hold advanced permissions (checkuser, oversight, bureaucrat, steward) on this or other WMF projects? If so, please list them. Also, do you have VRT permissions? If so, to which queues?
    As stated above I have been an OS since 2018, and have VRT permissions to the OS queue. I do not have access to any other queues.
