Get Silly[edit]V.I.C. lead single "Get Silly," which was produced by Soulja Boy Tell Em. "It's a song that you can do whatever to," explains the eager 21 year old. "Right now, they got a lot of dances out. There's not a particular dance that goes with the song, so when it comes on, you just do what you wanna do to it." V.I.C.'s perfect musical medium is a hybrid between witty battle rhymes and energetic southern party music. V.I.C. sits up high on 24-inch chrome wheels with Louisiana bad boy Hurricane Chris as the two microphone titans shine atop deep southern kick drums and shimmering bells on the bouncy "Ridin." "It's still punch lines, but now it's more universal. I see the bigger picture. I want everybody to understand me," he says. "My style is southern because I was raised here, but I'm snapping. You can tell when you hear me rap that I have a northern influence." Whether it’s danceable party jams to keep the crowd hype or introspective, poetic parables, V.I.C. offers it all. "I'm a good, all-around rapper," he boasts. "I make good music." V.I.C. Offical Myspace page[edit]

The Last Furlong was a short-lived Irish comedy-drama television series which was aired on RTE from November 14 to December 19, 2005. Originally created by Simon Delaney and co-written with director Kieran Carney, the series dealt with Diogo Bernardo Furlong (Simon Delaney), a Portuguese cabaret singer and songwriter, who travels to Ireland to scatter his mother's ashes over the grave of his Irish father. Plot[edit]After the death of his mother, Diogo Bernardo Furlong visits Ireland to scatter his mother's ashes on the grave of his father. His father had died some years before in a boating accident on Lough Allen, and he was raised by his mother in Alentejo, Portugal. His only clue to his father's grave is a postcard that his mother gave to him with a picture of a church. Leaving behind his fiancée Claudia, he arrives in Dublin and is met by an acquaintance and music promoter David Daly (Garrett Keogh). He persuades Diogo to take a musical tour Ireland and, promising to help Diogo find his father's grave, he also persuades Diogo to take a musical tour Ireland with he and his daughter Margaret (Orla Fitzgerald), an aspiring filmmaker, who reluctantly agrees to manage Diogo. A backup band is hired and, joined by Margaret’s boyfriend John Ford (Simon Keogh) and his friend Sean Flanagan (Domhnall Gleeson), Diogo and The Fandango’s begin a tour of Ireland’s graveyards and other hisoric locations and venues in Ballymore Eustace, Roscommon, Strokestown, Ballaghderreen, Ballagh and Westport. Reception[edit]Although coming off of a successful run on the sitcom Bachelors Walk, the series received poor reviews from critics. Delaney's general acting and musical performance were particularly criticized. His portrayal of Diogo, a character he used to perform as during takes between Bachelors Walk "just to keep the crew amused" [3], was seen by critics as an all to similar version of his character on Bachelors Walk as in other film and television appearances. About[edit]The High Density Rosetta (HD-Rosetta)is an analog storage medium used for the long term storage of data including text, images and music. It consists of a plate of nickel no larger than 2" square and 1/4" thick, which data is written onto pixel by pixel by a Focused Ion Beam (FIB) machine which micro engraves the surface. The etched plate lasts for over 1,000 years and is rated to survive in temperatures of 500°C. The medium can be read using just a strong magnifying glass, is unaffected by changes in magnetic feild/stong magnetic feilds and each plate can hold 192,000 pages when viewed through an electron microscope.

History[edit]Charter and commissioning[edit]"Shepaug" in the railroad's name derived from the name of the river that most of the line followed which in turn was a Mohegan name that meant "rocky water".[6] The railroad was chartered in 1866 or 1868 and opened for operation on December 7, 1871 as the Shepaug Valley Railroad.[7][8] J. Deming Perkins was the company's first president. Henry R. Colt was the treasurer and Edwin McNeill was the superintendent.[8] Regular service to Litchfield started by January 11, 1872.[8] Due to the expense of building and maintaining the line through rocky rural terrain the railroad suffered low profitability throughout its existence. To help pay creditors it was reorganized as the Shepaug Railroad in 1873 and was again reorganized as the Shepaug, Litchfield and Northern (or SL&N) on May 9, 1887.[7] Early operations[edit]The first three 30 ton 4-4-0 steam locomotives to run on the Shepaug line were from the Rogers Locomotive and Machine Works of Patterson, New Jersey named Shepaug, Weatinaug, and Waramaug.[9][8] In addition to passenger traffic the railroad shipped freight. Gail Borden's condensed milk business had started operation in the Burrville section of Torrington in the 1860s. Thanks to strong sales during the civil war that business was quite profitable and was looking to expand in the 1870s. A new Borden creamery was built and started shipping dairy products out of Washington Depot soon after the start of operations on the SL&N. Other significant freight shippers included stone quarries near Roxbury and New Preston (marble and granite)[8] and ice cut from Bantam Lake.[9] At first the SL&N would run two trains down from Litchfield toward Hawleyville with two return trains later in the day each weekday.[10] A single passenger and a separate freight train ran on Saturdays. The need to get milk as fresh as possible to New York City markets led to runs of a Sunday "milk train". At first the milk was delivered to Hawleyville to be picked up by the Housatonic and then carried to Bridgeport and on to New York. Eventually the creamery at Hawleyville was closed as was the Hawleyville branch, by which time the milk train ran through Danbury to South Norwalk.[11] In 1872 the railroad reached an agreement with the Danbury and Norwalk Railroad to operate trains on that company's newly constructed 6 mile Hawleyville Branch to Bethel. Eventually the SL&N would run trains from Litchfield down to South Norwalk for connection with the New Haven or to Wilson's Point for ferry service connection to either New York or to Oyster Bay on Long Island.[12] 1898 and later, the New Haven era[edit]On July 1, 1898, the New Haven Railroad leased the Shepaug, Litchfield and Northern from the Housatonic and operated it as its Litchfield Branch until business weakened in the first half of the 20th century. The Borden Creamery in Washington was closed down in 1928.[13] Passenger service on the Shepaug Division was stopped by 1932[9] and the New Haven petitioned the Interstate Commerce Commission to abandon the line as a freight road in 1947.[14] The ICC granted permission to abandon the line in 1948 which is when freight service stopped on the line. [14] In 1947 and 1948 the line finally saw the arrival of more modern diesel-electric locomotives for freight hauling, but their use was very short lived.[9] In 1949 the gandy dancers who had maintained the line pulled up the rails and ties as part of the abandonment.[9] The route[edit]The Shepaug was renowned for its labyrinthine route. It was said that the line took
32 miles of track to travel a distance of only 18 miles as the crow flies.
A A In 1889 a branch of the line from New Preston was extended four miles to Lake Wauramaug. This line carried vacationing passengers in the summer time and also helped to distribute ice from icehouses throughout the year.[16] In 1892 the NYNH&H leased the Hawleyville-Bethel branch to the Shepaug.[10] Stations and flag stops along the line from northeast to southwest with distances from Hawleyville included the following:[10]
The Steep Rock Association land trust[edit]In 1889 architect Ehrick Rossiter (1854-1941) who was an 1871 graduate of The Gunnery in
Washington, Connecticut purchased 100 acres along the Shepaug River to
save it from logging. The area included several miles of SL&N tracks. In 1893
philanthropists Edward I. and Mary Lawrence McLane Van Ingen built Holiday House
south of Washington Depot following plans drawn up by Rossiter.
Holiday House served as a country hotel or retreat
for young working women from New York City. It was a non sectarian effort run by
St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, New York (then on 42nd street).[9]
Although Holiday House stopped operating
as a retreat by 1918 and was torn down shortly thereafter, vestiges of it
including stone walkways and stone foundations
for a pedestrian suspension bridge that allowed train passengers to disembark and make
their way to the retreat still stand in the Steep Rock revervation.[9]
In 1925 Rossiter donated his land to a group of trustees so that it could be preserved in its
wooded state. In 1929 the Steep Rock Association trustees purchased the rounded oxbow
encircled hill known as the Clam Shell and added it to the preserve. The floods of 1955
removed the remnants of the SL&N bridge over the river near the Clam Shell. Over
the years additional land in separate parcels was donated to the trust and it currently
conserves more than Sources[edit]References[edit]

In talking about his music, singer-songwriter Justin Hines says, “Honestly, I don’t remember wanting to do anything else, period.” That sense of it being something as essential as breathing emanates from every track on his soul-searching debut album, Sides. Justin absorbed his musical gifts from his family – “My dad plays a mean folk guitar,” he says, “and my mom has a great voice.” Justin’s been told that as a baby, he was carrying a tune before he was talking, and remembers that, “My grandmother Margaret always had this thing that I was going to be a singer. She had me singing in church and for relatives, so any stage fright left me early.” There was also the influence of an inanimate – but equally musical – fixture of the household, a jukebox of his dad’s, loaded with old 45s. He’d sit in front of it for hours, listening to every song, note for note. It’s still in his basement, and it still inspires Hines with classic recordings by artists including James Taylor, Willie Nelson, Cat Stevens, Jim Croce and Harry Chapin. Competing against hundreds of entrants, 14-year-old Justin won a radio contest to sing the Canadian national anthem at a Toronto Raptors game. His first gig was in front of 17,000 people.” Possessed of an unflagging spirit that’s remarkable under any circumstances, Justin copes with a rare genetic joint condition called Larsen Syndrome, that keeps him wheelchair bound. “Sometimes people find it hard to understand why I would be so positive,” he explains. “I was born into my situation, I don’t know any different, and I feel very fortunate for my family and all the support that I have. I know my physical situation is a bit of an attention grabber, but as an artist and performer, it is my job to hold the audience’s attention, and let the music speak for itself.” his views about the environment From a very early age, his creative mind was emanating poetry about universal love, the soul and other such global topics. His charitable works are so numerous it’s hard to even begin to list his performances at fundraising events that began at the age of 10. His love and concern for humanity, not just the disadvantaged gradually became his focus of attention. To learn more about his fundraising endeavours please visit www.JustinHines.org. Showcasing the more intimate elements of Hines’ artistry, his first CD is titled Sides. Fourteen tracks were culled from more than thirty he composed over the past several years, when he feels he came into his own as a songwriter –“I’ve done a lot of living, learning and growing in that time,” Justin says. “I made a conscious effort to abandon any trends, I just wanted to do something that was very honest. I wanted to just be Justin, whatever that was.” It was, and is, a classic sounding confessional that reaches out to listeners with songs drawn from life, both highs and lows, that resonate with the bond of shared experience by virtue of his gentle but powerful truth telling. The album evolved through Hines’ collaboration with Justin Abedin, one of Toronto’s most respected musicians and producers. Proving himself a master of understated but persuasive production, Abedin also helped assemble an elite group of Toronto-based musicians – Mark Mariash, Drew Birston, Ron Lopata, Kevin Fox, Denis Keldie and Roger Travassos – for tracking sessions at Toronto’s Canterbury Sound. They mixed at the city’s famed Phase One Studios and mastered in NYC with Scott Hull (John Mayer, Steely Dan), capturing the ensemble with pristine clarity. “Our idea,” says Hines, “was for every player to have their part and for each part to be important. We kept it very individual, nothing too over the top or sonically overwhelming.” The title track “Sides,” from Justin’s soul-searching debut album, is a poetic summation of the “glass is half full” worldview that’s a keystone of Justin’s life and art, something embodied consistently in his music. He conveys it here with lines including, “...here on my side, it’s not the dirt on your soles but the diamonds in your eyes” and “it’s not the sun goin’ down it’s just the moon’s time to shine.” “This song came out of the fact that I’m often told my perspective is a tad unique,” says Justin, “I see a different side of things.” Hines says the album opener, “There’s Always Next Time,” “was written after coming to the conclusion that a particular relationship wasn’t happening. I’m a believer in amicable partings. I hope I captured the beauty in endings, not the drama.” “April On The Ground,” the joyful, moving first single – for which there’s an equally affecting video companion – is also about reaching a turning point and moving on. “It uses the metaphor of spring being just around the corner,” he says, “and getting past winter to a brighter season.” “For It’s You,” which Justin calls, “a simple song about my faith,” stirs heart and mind with poetry and devotion. Sides’ only cover, Jim Croce’s “I’ve Got A Name,” is “my dad’s all time favorite,” says Hines. “He introduced me to it when I was little, and it was an inspiration.”Hines manages to both channel Croce and make the song his own through his heartfelt connection to it. Justin cites as one of his own favorites the song “Never After,” which he says took him an uncharacteristically long time to write. “I met someone that really had an impact on me,” he says, adding, “it was never a Romeo and Juliet thing, but we had a bond, and still do, that’s really close and I can’t quite explain it. I wanted to try and capture the essence of that.” Songs like “Wish You Well”, provide comfort for our soul as we reminisce the past, present and future of the ones we love now or have lost to the great beyond. The final track, “Another Way To Cry,” a minimalist gem featuring Justin’s vocals backed by only a piano for a song that explores, “how we’re all kind of hurting, and we all show it in very different ways. I want to encourage people to find the beauty in the darkest situations.” Through his overall mantra of looking for hope to shine through in all things, he also helps people see the beauty in the light, in the remarkable everyday realities of their existence, whatever their individual journey might be. “My theory,” says Justin, “is that if you truly analyze your life, there is never a shortage of inspiration. The trick is to get to the heart of that and write about it honestly. I think you can really capture people’s emotions with the most simple song.” With Sides, longing for truth and having the wisdom to find it all around him, Justin Hines proves the strength of that disarmingly straightforward and most essentially human of theories.

Acting Career[edit]Linkow at the tender age of 14 tried out for the coveted role of Randy Camden on the hit show 7th Heaven. Nick beat out over 500 actors. He played Randy from 2001- 2004 Sources[edit]130.253.133.136 (talk) 18:30, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Founded in Jalisco (1939) by Efrain Gonzalez Luna, as part of the National Action Party founded the same year in Mexico City. As of 2008, it is the main political party of Jalisco (a Western Mexico State): it controls politics in the State as it has won most of political spaces in public elections since 1995. Currently the State the Governor, city majors of the capital area (Guadalajara, Zapopan, Tonala and Tlaquepaque) and majority of Congressmen come from this party. The Party is organised in district, municipal and state committees. Formerly, when the PRI ruled over Mexico as a dominant party, like the axis of the Mexican political scheme, the PAN JALISCO was a truly opposition party, conformed by independent proffessionals such like physicians, dentists, lawyers, accountants and small businesspeople. It had a unique democratic system to vote for party officials and leaders, as well of choosing the right candidates for general and midterm elections. However, after few years of finally gaining the main post of the state of Jalisco, the Governorship (Alberto Cardenas 1995), the party began to lose some of its democratic credentials. Some authors claim that after a period of time, original party memebers were outnumbered by opportunists who flooded the party with the affiliation of relatives, friends, business associates and so on, in order to win PAN JALISCO's electoral processes. In fact, with more elections won, most of newcomers within time won spaces in municipal administrations, Congress and even jobs in the State Governmental bodies. It remains questionable whether the party will survive if it ever loses control of State Congress, the Governorship and the leadership of cities ruled by PAN JALISCO; as it would be a party going far away from the principles of its 'Founding Fathers': common good, subsidiarty, solidarity, and human dignity, which also lead to honesty and public accountability. Specially by the fact that last National election (2006), was full of incertainty due to the fatigue in electors because a long political campaing, and quite a large numbers of last-minute undecided voters. Although it has been linked to the 'right wing' political scheme, its principles remain close to the centre, having the human being at the top of its priorities, but without biases towards neither extreme individualism, nor to socialism or colectivism. To some authors, the Party went on top of Mexican political scheme too fast, and that would be the cause of corruption and colusion among party leaders and public state officers. Such a problem would endanger the future of the party in public democratic elections. Sources[edit]http://www.panjal.org.mx/

Acting[edit]Linkow began his acting career in 2001 when he tried out for the role of Randy Camden on the hit family drama "7th Heaven". Linkow, who had only acted in his school play "The Hobbit" beat out 500 other contestants who were auditioning for the role as well. Linkow's acting chops were quickly embraced by long time fans and critics alike. He drew accolades from many high profile news papers. In 2002 the New York Times quoted "...Linkow brings a fresh new spin to the typical TV drama... he is a breath of fresh air." Linkow won the general publics respect but internal strifes between cast members began to surface in early 2003. It was reported that co-star Jessica Biel and Nick were fighting on set. Biel re portably had trouble "sharing the limelight" with Nick. This conflict reached critical mass during a filming session in September, 2003. Sources say that Biel refused to be on the set with Linkow at the same time. On February 21, 2004 Nick Linkow publicly announced that hes is leaving the show for "personal reasons." Insiders say that he left because he couldn't handle working with Biel for another season. On May 2, 2008 Nick agreed to co-host a show entitled "Men From Down Under" with Lance Bass on Australian TV. The show is to premier this summer. Personal Life[edit]Linkow resides on his ranch in Colorado Springs with partner Nate Bloomfield. The couple has adopted two kids named Harris and Randy.
