- Nominator's rationale: delete, its child category Category:Islamic terrorism in Sweden should cover the topic already and the one article doesn't fit the category too well. Also there's no other country with this type of category. Marcocapelle (talk) 21:48, 17 January 2017 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: delete (non-admin closure). Marcocapelle (talk) 06:33, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
- Propose deleting Category:Griffey family (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
- Propose deleting Category:Averill family (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
- Propose deleting Category:Raines family (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

- Propose deleting Category:Griffey family (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
- Nominator's rationale: Superfluous categories. Two members (or three, in the Armas and Bourjous categories), who are linked to each other in their articles. Why do we need categories for this? – Muboshgu (talk) 21:39, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
- Only seven categories? Well, if that is the case, then you should also nominate for deletion some categories for Sports families and Sports families of the United States, ditto Alomar, Alou, Boone, DiMaggio, Kelly, et cetera. Sincerely, MusiCitizen (talk) 11:58, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
- Delete – not defining. Further, there is no Griffey family article and there are other Griffeys, so the names are ambiguous. Ditto Averill, Raines, Armas, Fielder, Bourjos, Barfield. Oculi (talk) 09:54, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
- Delete - Families with 2 or 3 notable family members do not need a separate category. I wouldn't make a blanket assertion to all sports families though. For example, Alou family in baseball and the Sutter family in hockey have more substantial membership over multiple generations (and attention for being sports families, as opposed to simply a father and son or brother) and thus are appropriate. Rlendog (talk) 17:37, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
- Delete -- About 5 articles is the usual minimum for a category, and even that is perhaps too low. Peterkingiron (talk) 17:14, 22 January 2017 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: Rename 2, per nominator. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 23:32, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
- Propose renaming Category:College basketball teams in the NBA draft to Category:Lists of National Basketball Association draftees by college basketball team
- Propose renaming Category:College basketball teams in the Women's National Basketball Association Draft to Category:Lists of Women's National Basketball Association draftees by college basketball team
- Propose keeping the same Category:Lists of National Football League draftees by college football team
- Nominator's rationale: The goal is to align these three categories of professional sports draft lists to have the same naming convention. After review, I concluded following the format of the football category was best, because:
- Per WP:CATNAME, abbreviations (such as NBA) should be avoided in category names.
- Technically, it is not the teams that are being drafted in the NBA and WNBA Drafts, it is the players. Draftees is more technically accurate.
- Note I tagged the football category as well as the basketball categories in case consensus results in changing the name of that category as well. –Grondemar 06:58, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
- Comment Category:Lists of National Football League draftees by college football team is the CFB/NFL equivalent. Seems like that convention is viable here. Agreed the existing Cat namea should be changed. UW Dawgs (talk) 07:37, 17 January 2017 (UTC)

Category:Nobel laureates from West Bengal

- The result of the discussion was: Keep. Regardless of whether this category is too small, the effect of deletion would be to remove the category's contents from Category:Indian Nobel laureates, and no rationale was presented to support that action. @Koavf:: if you intended to propose a merger rather than deletion, feel free to start a new nomination to achieve that. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 23:28, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: There's really no scheme for Category:Nobel laureates by region or Category:Award winners from West Bengal. As it stands, there are four entries with two native Indians and two Europeans who lived in India for some part of their lives--it's too random of a category. —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 04:53, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
- Delete; no need to merge, as the member pages are already in the parent categories where appropriate. – Fayenatic London 08:23, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose -- If not kept, this should be merged to Category:Nobel laureates from India. Ronald Ross presumably did the research for which he got his prize in Calcutta (as then called); Mother Theresa was Albanian (perhaps Kosovar - not sure), but is much more renowned for her Indian mission work. My preference would be Keep: West Bengal is more populous than many whole countries. Peterkingiron (talk) 17:20, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
- Delete, the number of (potential) articles is more important than the actual size of the population, and the number of Nobel laureate articles in India is too limited to diffuse by state. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:46, 25 January 2017 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: speedily deleted under WP:G7, as it was redirected by its creator. – Fayenatic London 08:26, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: No need for a soft-redirect for this typo Avicennasis @ 04:38, 19 Tevet 5777 / 04:38, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
- Delete—unneeded category redirect. This would be questionable even at RFD. –Grondemar 07:00, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
