The result of the discussion was: merge. xplicit 06:20, 26 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: merge, originally Book of Nehemiah wasn't a separate book anyway and the amount of articles in the category also doesn't merit a separate category. Marcocapelle (talk) 22:29, 21 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • I do not agree. There is enough content in the category. Tostarpadius (talk) 12:15, 24 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support There are at least 4 books that as variorly known as Ezra or Nehemiah. See Esdras. Rather than sub-divide per the canonicity rules of various denominations, it makes more sense to bring them all together in a single space so that the inter-relationships can be seen at a glance. Laurel Lodged (talk) 09:45, 25 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge Ezra and Nehemiah have a close relationship, and are not even always considered distinct books.John Pack Lambert (talk) 00:45, 14 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: delete. xplicit 06:20, 26 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: delete per WP:OCEPON, too little content for an eponymous person's category. Marcocapelle (talk) 22:23, 21 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: merge. xplicit 06:20, 26 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: merge as an unnecessary category layer with just one subcategory and no articles in it. Marcocapelle (talk) 22:20, 21 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I see no reason for deletion as there other similar categories such as Category:Paul the Apostle in art. Tostarpadius (talk) 12:12, 24 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: rename. xplicit 06:20, 26 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: It should be specified that these articles are about television series, considering Category:Teen drama films exists as well. snapsnap (talk) 17:40, 21 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Rename per nom This is about television series, while we have many articles on films of the same genre. Dimadick (talk) 11:24, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Brooklyn politicians[edit]

The result of the discussion was: rename. xplicit 06:20, 26 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: The name and scope note for this category make it an anomaly compared to Category:Politicians from New York City and the existing subcats for the Bronx and Manhattan, which incorporate both politicians for those places as well as from them. While I can appreciate that a category limited to the former would be more helpful for certain users or queries, but it would be enough of a departure from how we categorize "people from" broadly, not to mention this specific category tree, that a change is desirable here. BDD (talk) 17:31, 21 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Rename per nom Location categories foe people are always in the "from" format. Dimadick (talk) 11:27, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Rename to match similar categories.John Pack Lambert (talk) 22:08, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Iroquois Confederacy is anachronistic. Iroquois or Iroquois people (or Haudensaunee) is the current WP naming convention. - Mnnlaxer | talk | stalk 03:04, 21 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Also, since all of the Iroquois national sports teams are lacrosse teams, this category could be sub-category of Lacrosse of the Iroquois. Not a big deal either way, but thought I'd bring it up.Mnnlaxer | talk | stalk 03:06, 21 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I've had second thoughts on this. I withdraw the name change. - Mnnlaxer | talk | stalk 23:17, 22 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I found recent examples of its use. [1] [2]Mnnlaxer | talk | stalk 07:07, 23 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • One article of the two articles, and also this site suggest the name of Haudenosaunee Confederacy. Marcocapelle (talk) 23:09, 23 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Iroquois is the name given to them by the French and Haudenosaunee is their own name. I don't have a strong opinion on I vs. H, Iroquois is more well-known, but I do think they should be able to name themselves. I do think the Confederacy should stay. I was premature in filing the request to move. - Mnnlaxer | talk | stalk 02:36, 24 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Can we close this now? - Mnnlaxer | talk | stalk 21:09, 29 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Iroquois Confederacy is anachronistic. Iroquois or Iroquois people (or Haudensaunee) is the WP naming convention. I started this manually, and changed about 10 articles. Sorry. - Mnnlaxer | talk | stalk 03:00, 21 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I withdraw the name change and I fixed the category back to the original name. Category:Lacrosse of the Iroquois can be deleted.- Mnnlaxer | talk | stalk 00:59, 23 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hold on. See discussion above. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:50, 23 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Er, the articles of this category have been moved to the target by a bot, today. In any case it seems to make perfect sense to merge the two categories. Marcocapelle (talk) 19:00, 30 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I think they should remain separate. National sports teams of the Iroquois Confederacy should be a sub cat of both National sports teams by country and Lacrosse of the Iroquois Confederacy. - Mnnlaxer | talk | stalk 21:46, 30 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. Sorry for causing this mess. - Mnnlaxer | talk | stalk 14:39, 1 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
