The result of the discussion was: merge. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 22:48, 8 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Upmerge to deal with smallcat issue and because we do not normally have these categories for faculty of a U.S. high school (one of only 3 such cats.). UnitedStatesian (talk) 15:44, 1 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - I concur with the nominator's remarks. Anomalous+0 (talk) 08:36, 6 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: withdrawn by nominator. Thanks to @Fayenatic for the checking. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 18:51, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: I dunno what this is about, or why it was added to the article Naoko Nozawa. BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 12:07, 1 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. I have added an explanatory link to the category page; it's a Japanese band. – Fayenatic London 08:04, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • Thanks, @Fayenatic. I have struck my nom's rationale, and I'd withdraw the nom if @Eric hadn't already !Voted delete. Eric, please could you review your !vote in light of FL's info? --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 09:44, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • Struck my vote per FL's info. Eric talk 12:32, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: merge. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 09:05, 8 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: merge per WP:SMALLCAT, just one article in this category and only few articles in the target parent category. For reference, Koupéla is a town in Burkina Faso of just over 20.000 people. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:46, 1 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge; only one merge is needed, as the member article is already categorised by type within Burkina Faso. – Fayenatic London 08:07, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: delete. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 01:00, 8 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: WP:OCAWARD (WP:NONDEFINING)
The Mongolian People's Republic category for recipients of the Hero of the Mongolian People's Republic consists overwhelmingly of high ranking Soviet officials like Joseph Stalin and Soviet cosmmonauts like Pavel Belyayev. The Soviet biography articles usually mention awards from other countries in passing within a long list of honors. If you want to see the clutter this type of category creates at the article level, take a look the train wreck at the bottom of this article. The recipients are already listified here in the main article. - RevelationDirect (talk) 00:09, 1 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete one of way too many examples of overcategorization by award.John Pack Lambert (talk) 16:42, 1 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • By all means Delete per nominator. Those category "train wrecks" are just appalling. Anomalous+0 (talk) 08:41, 6 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Listify and delete -- We already have a "for example" list in the main article. That needs to be filled out. Some are Mongolian notables, but a lot are clearly merely diplomatic honours. Peterkingiron (talk) 15:45, 6 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: delete. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 00:59, 8 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Per WP:PERFCAT and WP:NONDEFINING
If you take a look at the official biographies of the 18 people] who serve as the Hockey Hall of Fame Selection Committee, many were famous players in their youth, they generally spent decades working in the sport in some prominent capacity, and most are now late in their careers. Their Wikipedia articles usually mention the 3-year term on the Selection Committee in passing so it doesn't seem defining and all are already well-categorized in multiple subcategoreis of the Category:Hockey tree. The current Selection Committee is already listified here in the main article but I copied all the category contents here on this discussion's talk page in case they want to create a separate list article, which I would welcome. - RevelationDirect (talk) 00:07, 1 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete we do not want to start categorizing by every commitee a person has been on.John Pack Lambert (talk) 16:42, 1 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete I am rather dubious as to the merits of having a list in this case. Peterkingiron (talk) 15:46, 6 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
