Wikipedia:Editor review/Finns
Finns (talk · contribs) I would just like to see how I am doing really, I know I am not nearly up to the right standards to pass an RfA yet, but I just want to get some idea of how to go. // Finns 19:27, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
Questions
1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I don't think that there are any that I have been more pleased with than others, because I feel that each edit is as important as the last in terms of helping to provide the free encyclopedia. UEFA Euro 2008 article was always of particular interest to me.
2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
Although I have never been in an edit conflict in the past, the important thing to do, is look at the evidence, if it involves an idea, check for any consensus and things like this, if I were to find that I was wrong, the right thing to do would be to apologize.
Reviews
- If we're treating this as a review to see if you should consider RfA, i'll start by pointing out your relatively low number of edits; of the 3000-odd you've made, only around 200 have been on articles, the rest on talk pages/user pages. Most admins have a heck of a lot of edits (see [1] and while you DO, i think the lack of mainspace ones could let act as a problem. Your edits also seem to be mainly focused around football; RfA reviewers look for variation, such as helping clear recent edits, reverting vandalism generally and maintainance tasks. Out of the mass of wikipedia users there were around 1000 admins as of june 2006 (i'm afraid i cant find more recent info) but based on the rate of being made an admin there are probably around 2000 a day, and admins have to be varied in what they do; being varied beforehand is a good indication of if you'll be a worthwhile admin.
- Having said that, the edits i've seen are all fairly good and i couldnt find any iffy/reversed decisions or complaints on your talk page. Keep up with the high-quality edits and work more on the mainspace rather than user pages and you'll be up for RfA before you know it. Ironholds (talk) 10:41, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
