Wikipedia:Editor review/Rudget

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rudget (talk · contribs) I've been working on en.wp for nearly a year now (just two weeks off my anniversary I think) and in that time I've been through two requests for adminship, the latter being the successful one at 113/11/4. I've accumalated a fair number of contributions across the mainspace and hold a position in the portal namespace which allows me to close featured portal candidates discussions. I generally work well with other editors, and respond well to comments, queries or any other form of communication or discussion. I hope to gain some light on my activity here and see my editing from another perspective so I can work on those areas and improve my overall persona here on Wikipedia. Reviews

  1. I have had the pleasure of interacting with Rudget on quite a few occasions now, and he is currently offering me admin coaching, which is a clear demonstration of his dedication not just to the encyclopaedia, but to the community at large. A great user. αѕєηιηє t/c 18:25, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  2. As I have been mentioned here, I hope that I may be allowed to comment without being once again accused of being "i/uncivil". Since Rudget decided to initiate what I considered then, and still consider now, to have been a specious AN/I report about me [1] we have managed to coexist by avoiding each other. In no sense at all have we "sorted out our differences". At the root of our problems was Rudget's ownership of the Didsbury article, and I have recently seen exactly the same ownership issue cropping up with another editor, in the context of the Withington article [2]. I wish Rudget well, but I do still firmly believe that he has to learn to work with other editors, instead of trying to pull rank based on the number of GA/FAs that he claims to have worked on. --Malleus Fatuorum (talk) 00:46, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's a fair assessment. Thank you for taking the time to leave some comments. I've struck out "sort out differences" to reflect this statement. Rudget. 12:38, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I will simply add that I too hope that our relations can start to develop again after a troublesome few months. Working collaboratively on an article has got to be one of the best experiences that wikipedia can offer. It doesn't matter who gets the credit for an article at the end of the day. Who knows who any of us are in real life anyway, and when we're dead who will care? :-) --Malleus Fatuorum (talk) 17:40, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
My main contributions can be seen at User:Rudget/userboxes. I've got one portal, two lists and helped with an article upto featured status. I've also worked extensively with other articles, getting two GAs (one of which is now an FA), four B-class articles and four-or-five DYKs. I must confess I haven't done this on my own, which is a good attribute when looking back on the colloboration on the article when it has acheived some form of listing. The main editors I've worked with are Malleus Fatuarum (talk · contribs), Jza84 (talk · contribs), Joshii (talk · contribs) and to a lesser extent Qst (talk · contribs) and Nev1 (talk · contribs).
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I have been in conflict with one main editor here, that lying with Malleus Fatuarum above. A keen and dedicated content builder, I've come across MF on many occasions before, partially because of the links we had with the Greater Manchester WikiProject. I do believe now though we have sorted out our differences, but really, that's not for me to say since I can only speak for myself. I do wish MF every luck in the future and hope our relations can start to develop again after these troublesome few months. Rudget. 11:31, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
