SaturnYoshi (talk · contribs) I have been editing on Wikipedia for a while now and would like some peer feedback on the improvements that I need so that I can become an Admin. I realize that vandal patrol isn't enough and that quality edits cannot be summarized by count alone. - Review from Jayron32: Writing (as in prose) seems pretty good in the articles you have written. Some concerns, though (no particular order or importance):
- References: The Mario Series Enemies(for example) article is in DIRE need of references. I would recommend putting an inline reference to each character to a published source describing it (perhaps the Prima Games guide or some such). The same is true for most of the articles you are editing. If you spend some time just referencing your favorite articles, you would GREATLY improve them vis-a-vis "Good Article" criteria here. Most of you top edited articles would probably be Good Articles, but for want of references.
- Breadth of Topics: All editors have a particular area of expertise they are "good" at. I, for instance, spend a lot of time editing American Football articles. Still, I try to get out and edit articles from a wide variety of topics. While your additions to the Mario/Pokemon/Mortal Kombat universes are great, it would be nice to see some non-video game improvements. Find some articles you have some personal connection to, and have access to resources about, and try to improve them, (for example, the RamBot article on your hometown) or perhaps find an article with LOTS of outside resources and poor articles (such as the current Esperanza Collaboration of the Month article on the American Revolution. There are lots of articles that need improvement and have both a wide appeal and AMPLE resources to help them along. Try to help these out where you can.
- More involvement in Project related stuff: AfD comments, RfC, policy discussions, vandal squashing, categorizing, wikifying, Village Pump discussions, these sorts of things, I think, would show a desire to add to the Project as a "whole". This is important, it seems, in RfA discussions. Admins are expected to know and be able to participate in the housekeeping and maintenance aspects of the Project, and seeing involvement in those areas would definately help

- You're doing very well as a mainspace editor, but not so well if you intend to become an administrator soon. I see no recent participation in XfD, which would be essential if you are to become accustomed to the deletion processes and relevant policies. I also see only very sporadic vandal fight, and even then you apparently did not warn the vandals. I really do not recommend an RfA before you have increased your participation in these areas so that other users will be able to recognize your performance in admin-oriented roles. Try patrolling recent changes and joining a few XfD discussions. Your edit summary usage is also very low. Always add a summary to every single edit of yours. - Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
- Answer: I have started to get Mario series enemies off the ground. I have expanded it and plan to continually make it better. I know that it's still quite a ways away from being perfect, but I feel that this sort of thing is exactly what I need to help me in becoming a successful Admin. Also, I have been getting used to properly sourcing images and have been greatly helping out with the various WikiProjects that I belong to. Some, I have to say, more than others unfourtunately.
- Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- Answer: Actually, I tend to shy away from edit conflicts. I may have butted heads with another user from time to time, but I have been good at seeking help rather than saying that my way is right. As far as stress from other users goes, the only time I can think of that was really stressful was when a vandal was repeatedly attacking my userpage. I supplied the annonymous IP with a warning and when the vandalism persisted, I felt it was necessary to report him or her. I'm fairly laid back, and a simple argument over content won't send me off the deep end.
