Wikipedia:Editor review/Spawn Man2
Spawn Man (talk · contribs) Hi everyone. I had an RfA close rather badly a couple of months ago due to some uncivil behaviour on my behalf. However, I was told to keep my temper & come back again in a few months. I wanted to find out a few things from this editor review; 1)Has public opinion on me changed at & have I been forgiven for my past actions. 2)Is there anything else I need to improve on. Edit count, name space edits etc. 3)When it would be wise to allow myself to be nominated for adminship (If ever sigh!). 4)Anything else. I've been contributing to Reference desk & to Xfds too lately as well as keeping my user edits down. So if you're able to review me, please do so & I thank you profusely in advance. - Hello, Spawn Man, I haven't seen you in a long time. You've really reformed since your last RFA. You haven't edited much in the past month, but you are very good with gnommish work. The only thing that really concerns me are edits like these: [1] [2]. It's good that you want the tools, but consider on why you want them for a sec. From those edits, it really sounds like you're looking at adminship as a trophy of some sort. - Thanks for the review! I wouldn' call my usual work gnomish, but lately during the Christmas holidays, I've been reduced to only a few small edits (hence my low edit count). Hopefully soon I'll be back up to my usual self on here. In regard to the edit links you pulled up, they were kind of an "in-joke" for one of my friends, but no one else got it. Gulp! In any case, I had no intention of making my quest for adminship seem like a trophy hunt. Although I would love adminship, as I said, I was just joking around as I normally do. :) Plus the second link was a jab at a quote from an Austin Powers/Spongebob Square Pants film/episode thingy, where the villain cries out something about being evil & such. My deepest regrets if anyone took it the wrong way. Hope that clears it up. Unexcusable behaviour & I'll make sure it doesn't happen again. As I said, thanks for the review! - Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
- I know I go on about it a lot (to the extent where people physically throttle me), but I am very proud of my work on Dinosaur which I got to FA status. I did it mainly on my own before the dinosaur wikiproject was restarted (which I also had a hand in). So although my other 2 FA's & my FL were nominated by me & I had lots of work in them, they were produced in a sort of collaboration between myself & other dinosaur editors. I'm also very proud of Jewellery, which I studied for 2 weeks & got it to A-class status in a couple of days. However, since I've ceased involvement on the article, it was demoted to GA class, which is still good I guess... Other than that, I'm proud of all of my work, which is why I guess I continue writing articles.
- Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- Well of course I had that big fight with a couple of users when I thoguht they were undermining my work. That fight of course was then plastered over my RfA which is why it failed. Since then however, I don't recall ever having a fight. I'm afraid that people will bring up my old RfA issues & superimpose them over my current self, which would be totally wrong in my opinion. All around the RfA board I see people getting elected on 2nd chances, but I'm sure I wont get one. Which is why I want to know where I stand so i can improve further so that I will have a better chance.
