Wikipedia:Editor review/T-borg

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

T-borg (talk · contribs) Well, I've been around since December 2005, and I decided it was time to see how I was doing. For now I have no intention of becoming an admin, maybe later, but no way anytime first half of 2007. I just think sysops have more responsibilities than I could handle. May the Edit be with you, always. T-borg (drop me a line) 21:36, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello T-borg! I have some suggestions for you, but they are just my take. Feel free to ask me if you have any questions.
Overall, you seem to be doing a fine job, and I'm impressed by your large number of image uploads. I'm not sure what happened with all of those deleted ones in January, but I'm sure you've sorted it out and learned something.
I would recommend not using abbreviations (such as "rv") in your edit summaries. While experienced editors have no trouble identifying this as a revert, don't forget that many inexperienced users also look at article histories and may be confused as to what you actually did in that edit. Typing out "revert" or "revert vandalism" takes but a little time. Also, when you do revert vandalism, I would recommend always warning the vandal with an appropriate template such as {{subst:test1}} for first time offenders. Warning users or just directing them towards the sandbox often prevents future vandalism and nonsense edits to the mainspace.
Other than that, nothing immediately comes to mind since you're not planning on applying for adminship anytime soon. This cracks me up: "Master the way of the Edit, you must. Begun, the Edit Wars have." I hope the edit wars don't get too bad and I admire your friendly and community building attitude. Best wishes for the road ahead, Dar-Ape 23:58, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
Maybe my work on the Serious Sam article, though I haven't done that much. As pointed out on my user page, "because I'm a big fan of computer games and animated shows, I mainly monitor such pages" but I try to post with accordance to Wikipedia's guidelines. On Wikipedia pages, I mainly contribute to the Motto of the Day.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
On Wikipedia, never. I concider the project to be one of the greatest ideas ever thought up, so I know how important teamwork is, especially since most pages can be edited by anyone. Usually when I revert vandalism, I don't receive "feedback", but if I do, I'd just tell the person to calm down, and don't get worked up about it. I have greeted some users, and I hope this would become a habbit of mine in the future.
