Tim.bounceback[edit]

Tim.bounceback (talk · contribs) I've been on Wikipedia for a short while now, and, having a little over 1,250 edits, and seeing as I'm considering running for admin in the future, I was wondering how I was doing. Tim.bounceback(talk | contribs | ubxen) 01:52, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reviews

About time for your review eh, sorry it took so long. We have a definite shortage of reviewers here. Ok, I look at your contribs, you have a good edit sumary rate, you mark all your minor edits, you are doing a superb job fighting vandals, and your active in AFD's and other janatorial tasks. I only have a few sugestions.

  1. Use redirects spareingly, generaly redirects should only be used when an article could have names so different that if you searched for one you would not get any results for the other. Redirecting Wet-floor effect to Wet floor effect is unnesasary.
  2. Use the preview button, you often make many minor edits in a row to an article([1][2][3]). Its best to use the privew button instead of saving when you do that. Its not huge I know but it helps improve organization and makes it easiser for recent changes patrollers.
  3. Not all wikignomish, while wiki gnomes are very important, the people at WP:RFA also like to see a few major Contrbutions. Just pick an article you find interesting and add a paragraph or two every now and then. Curently the most you have ever edited an article in the main space is 8. Most sucsessfull sysops have somthing like 40+.
Home that helps! Keep up the good work! -ĬŴΣĐĝё 03:21, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Comments

  • I disagree with "use redirects sparingly". What harm is there in having an extra redirect? And if someone types one thing in and it redirects them to the page that they were almost certainly looking for, rather than to a search page, isn't that a good thing? Perhaps you know something I don't, Icewedge, but my understanding is that redirects are cheap. delldot talk 17:52, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
This is hard to say, seeing as I edit many different articles, fighting vandalism, fixing small problems and making minor edits. However, if I had to choose one article in particular, this would be Ben Bulben, however, one will probably find my contributions even to that fairly small in comparison to others; mainly for the before mentioned reasons.'
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I can't think of any particular editing conflicts right now, however, I was once in a small conflict over the (now non-existent) article Quizap at an AfD discussion.

Borrowed from Glen (talk · contribs), I'm sure he wont mind. These should test you editing skills, and show if you have any weaknesses which you can work on. So, just write your answer next to the Question. Good luck.
