- extra non-free image in an article with an existing very similar one. The small differences from the other non-free image can easily be described with text alone if required. Image fails NFCC#1 (replaceable with a free alternative) and NFCC#3a (excessive use of non-free content) Peripitus (Talk) 00:10, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep
- Your claim of this image being very similar one and small differences from the other miss the purpose of the two images. The album was released in Australian & New Zealand markets in 1986 as by Paul Kelly & the Coloured Girls (shown clearly in first infobox image). Due to possible racist connotations the band changed their name to Paul Kelly & the Messengers upon the 1987 international release (shown clearly in the second infobox image). Whilst a text description is provided, a visual image is necessary for North American and European casual readers to quickly become aware that this is the album they are looking for. I believe the images are not very similar as the differences are major in that they show an album which has been released under two different band names.Shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 00:32, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- The images are almost identical - the changes can be described with the text "for the 1987 North American/European release, the image and text shading were changed slightly and the bands name was changed from The Colouredgirls to The Messengers". Showing that things are different is not a justification for non-free images, we must assume that people viewing the article can exercise a modicum of imagination. - Peripitus (Talk) 00:38, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete. Fails WP:NFCC#3a; multiple images are used where one would suffice as it does not add significant information. — Σxplicit 07:00, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete, both are not needed to fully identify and understand the article. – Quadell (talk) 14:41, 26 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Comment How does it fail Wikipedia:NFCC#1? The copyright to the cover is likely owned by either the artist or the Label. I highly doubt there is a free version of it.--Rockfang (talk) 02:01, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- It fails NFCC#1 as this image can be described as "for the Alternative album the blue patterned background was changed to flat white" .... there we have a non-free image replaced with a free alternative....text. It is not necessary to illustrate everything, text and imagination are wonderful replacements - Peripitus (Talk) 08:37, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Exactly, it's free, and this is a single frame of what appears to be the lead in to the show, as well as being used in promotional materials including commercials. So doesn't the fact that the image is on these pages result in free advertisement for Hasbro products? (i.e. I don't really think Hasbro nor anybody else really cares about this slice of image on here.) Arc Lamps & Signal Flares (talk) 12:50, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

These images have several problems. All four were uploaded in support of Slender Man, which as far as I can determine is a hoax (see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Slender man).
- In three out of the four cases, the uploader explicitly described the image as "fake".
- The first image contains a watermark that clearly contradicts the uploader's claim that xe is the rights holder, making the copyright licence given fraudulent.
- The descriptions in Slender Man contradict the uploader's statement of being the rights holder. The fourth image, for example, is described in the article as the creation of one "Hans Freckenberg", but described in the copyright licence as the uploader's own work.
- It's close to impossible to obtain correct information about the second and fourth images. They may well be genuine woodcuts. But there's no evidence of a "Hans Freckenberg" (or even a "Halstberg Castle") that I can find, so they are certainly not as they are described. Only the first image, from its watermark, is likely to be fully identifiable, including author and copyright licensing. The third image, of paintings in Serra da Capivara National Park, has an identifiable subject. But it's going to be tricky to identify the real photographer, and what copyright licence it is actually published under.
It's not beyond the bounds of possibility for an editor who places falsehoods in article space to be misrepresenting the ownership, descriptions, and copyright status of the articles uploaded in support of that content. Uncle G (talk) 15:06, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- The image is a promotional show that is used to highlight three characters. Per the NFCC #1, the image has to significantly increase the readers understanding of the topic, which this particular shot - three women standing next to each other - does not. NW (Talk) 15:49, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep The 3 characters highlighted are the 3 female stars. This is image and the cloning image [1] are the ones that Cinemax and Dangerous Tomorrows are using to promote the show. I don't know of any reliable sources which are not focused on the female leads. If you watch the opening sequence you'll see those 3 featured prominently. One of them is almost always on screen during the show. It is a photo for a TV show showing the 3 main characters in costume. jbolden1517Talk 16:39, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Rerelease is not mentioned, let alone its cover. This non-free image is not required. J Milburn (talk) 16:07, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete as failing NFCC#8, 10(currently) and possibly 3. There is no discussion of this piece of non-free content at all, not even a mention that there is a re-release, and this image adds nothing of significance to reader's understanding. The rationale is incorrect and not written for this item alone in that it states that the purpose is, in part "to show the primary visual image associated with the work" which is untrue as there is already a primary image for the article. Personally I see this as failing NFCC#3 as a single image is all that is required for me to illustrate the article, though I know that other's disagree with this and assert instead that each and every release requires an image else reader understanding will be damaged - Peripitus (Talk) 02:57, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
