Where is the issue taking place?

War of the Pacific, Tacna Region

User:Bdean1963, User:Jersey Devil, myself

What's going on?

During the last couple of weeks, User:Bdean1963 has constantly added information that has no relation whatsoever with the articles, reversed uncontroversial changes, reverted without discussion after several attempts to contact him, failed to assume good faith and exhibited incivility.

What would you like to change about that?

I would like User:Bdean1963 to understand that Wikipedia is neither a political forum nor a place to do political advertisement of his ideas.

While using the talk page of the article in question to solve a dispute is encouraged to involve a larger audience, feel free to discuss the case below if that is not possible. Other mediators are also encouraged to join in on the discussion as Wikipedia is based on consensus.

I had a go at mediating this, sort of, and so far it's going reasonably well. The disputed section of War of the Pacific has been split off into a new article on the current Peru-Chile dispute. In time that can be expanded to cover the broader subject of relations between the two countries as was done for Peru and Ecuador. There's probably some work still to be done on other aspects of the dispute, but those seem to be less of an issue. Angus McLellan (Talk) 23:53, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

In the dispassionate interest of the advancement of knowledge free from censorship, I respectfully request that User:Messhermit reverts recent edits I have made on the War of the Pacific to accommodate alternative yet balanced points of view to reflect the historical record.
