Request made by: Binky The WonderSkull 05:29, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Where is the issue taking place?
The article Discordian Works, Talk:Discordian Works
Who's involved?
User:Binky The WonderSkull, User:Ashibaka, and others.
What's going on?
The article Discordian Works was put up for deletion by Ashibaka. The decision was KEEP. But Ashibaka is continuing to gut the article. You can see the types of comments Ashibaka made for yourself at [1] and see the gut at the article's history.
What would you like to change about that?
I would like Ashibaka to respect the decision. If he or she wants to suggest improvements, I would like Ashibaka to do so instead of hacking out sections.
Would you prefer we work discreetly? If so, how can we reach you?
You can post it here.

Mediator response

[edit]

Is this request still necessary or can I close it? --Ideogram 07:06, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Closing. --Ideogram 22:55, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
As long as Ashibaka keeps threatening to delete the article in spite of two decisions to keep it the request shouldn't be closed! Binky The WonderSkull 06:08, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Binky, please see the talk section of Discordian Works. We've got some breathing room now, lets not cock it up. Drjon 14:45, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is a simple case of WP:RS. I am going to give Drjon and everyone else as much time as they need to find reliable sources for what I consider an outrageous claim that neo-pagan vanity press books by unknown authors are "Discordian," and if not I will remove them because they are unsourced. I will not interfere in the page editing until I understand that they have given up looking for sources. Ashibaka (tock) 20:41, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is what I'm talking about! Ashibaka says he can judge what is and isn't Discordian. How? DrJon got material from Greg Hill who with Kerry Thornley created Discordianism! And Reverend Loveshade's blog has posts from the daughter of Robert Anton Wilson who co-wrote The Illuminatus! Trilogy which popularized Discordianism, and from Mark Steele who did art for the Illuminatus comic book. If that's not Discordian then what is? Then Ashibaka says he'll be gone for two weeks on his user page, and then he'll gut the article again which the decision was to KEEP because we'll have to give up looking for sources. How many sources does he need? It has a lot right now! Binky The WonderSkull 06:20, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Couple of points. I didn't get material directly from Greg Hill (I'd appreciate it if you'd take the time in future to verify such a statement before making it). And the posting by RAW's daughter on Reverend Loveshade's blog (which, although it seems genuine, has no guarentee of being such) states that she is only posting to deny catagorically the rumour being promulgated on some blogs that Reverend Loveshade is RAW's grandson. Neither point speaks to your case. Cheers, Drjon 13:33, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
DrJon I read you got it from Greg Hill if you didn't I'm sorry. But Christina Pearson said that Robert Anton Wilson didn't have any physical grandchildren but that he was Reverend Loveshade's Grandbob. They were close. Binky The WonderSkull 06:16, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Can Dick Cheney's lesbian daughter make statements for him about gay rights? Can the illustrator of the Hitchhiker's Guide graphic novel make statements about what Douglas Adams' philosophy was? Ashibaka (tock) 22:39, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What does this have to do with what I said? Mark P. Steele, the creator of the Illuminatus comic book which is based on The Illuminatus! Trilogy by Robert Shea and Robert Anton Wilson, the most famous Discordian work, recognized Reverend Loveshade. The daughter of Robert Anton Wilson who's one of the author's recognizes Reverend Loveshade, and said RAW was his spiritual Grandbob. Binky The WonderSkull 06:16, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
