  • Sorry. Can't attend. We are doing lots with wikis, http://CLOH.wikia.com. On that date, and mostly all summer, we're at the swim pool. Calendar at http://CLOH.org. How about if you all move the gathering to the swim pool? 21:45, 18 June 2015 (UTC) from Mark Rauterkus
  • Hi, everyone! I am in the area and would be interested in attending!! However, I am taking night classes this summer during most of the week except Tuesdays! Is there any way we can do a future meetup on a Tuesday or possibly change the date to Tuesday June 23rd? Thanks for the invitation, static shakedown ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ 13:34, 19 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Let's plan another..

[edit]

I am sorry I missed the meet up in July. Is anyone interested in organizing another one?

Next Meet-up in Pittsburgh

[edit]

I guess you could say that I got tired of waiting for someone else to organize an event so I would like to invite all Pittsburghers who consider themselves to be Wikipedians to the following meet-up:

When: Thursday, April 3, 2015
Where: Gallery-Very Fine Art, 2743 East Carson St., South Side Works, Pittsburgh, PA 15203
Time: 6pm - 9pm

I will be your host, and provide table space, chairs, an Internet connection and some munchies. There will be no alcohol so don't expect to see it. I especially want to invite Wikipedians and who consider themselves to be females, I hear we are a rare breed. Please RSVP closer to the event so that I can make sure I have enough to eat for you, my guests. I am doubly curious to make an acquaintance with an administrator since I secretly believe they don't even exist.

We generally have 2 or 3 tables gathered under the tent thing (not sure what is real name is) I will bring a paper (8 X 11) with WIKIPEDIA on it. I should be arriving at noon give or take 10 minutes. Not everyone planning to attend lists their name here, so there could be two or 3 times more people then you expect to see. There is chance of showers Saturday, but as we have a roof, no reason to anticipate a cancellation. JeepdaySock (AKA, Jeepday) 10:30, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • We'll see. I'm curious about the age range though as I may be a bit out of my element if this is a "college student" type of gathering. striking that - Lou and I may have a few things in common. Ched :  ?  12:22, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry but I won't be able to make it today. — Ched :  ?  14:06, 22 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Tempting. The weather is perfect on Saturday for a picnic. [Lauriemann]

[edit]
  • I attended and spent an hour or so. It was very nice. Saw some folks I met two years ago, plus one new adult and one new 18-month-old. Most of those I saw before had quite a bit less hair this time. I was awarded a physical barnstar; I didn't know that such things existed. See, there's no substitute for actually being there. August 2010 meetup

[edit]

The first Pittsburgh meetup was held on Sunday, 22 August 2010, near the University of Pittsburgh campus, at 3:00 in the afternoon. The location was the Fuel & Fuddle (map) at 212 Oakland Ave, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15213. We have the basement reserved and had dinner there, as well as Polish sweets courtesy of Piotrus. It was generally agreed that this was a good place to meet; the nachos received high praise from those who ordered them.

We talked about:

  • Wikipedia assignments
  • Sock policy and how instructors sometimes need to use separate accounts for running assignments
  • The problem that categories don't work like tags

We plan to meet again, maybe in about two months.
