Justin Bieber videography[edit]

I've listed this article for peer review because I drafted the article solely by myself and need another's eyes. Specific sections that need suggestions are the lede and the descriptions of the music videos. Also, if someone could check over the references, I would appreciate that. Or if it's ready to be nominated as a featured list candidate.

I'll take a review. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 14:10, 14 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Update. That's all my comments. Do you want any more or shall we close the review? Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 16:08, 19 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Reply: The only thing other than that is the picture, but I think I'll just go ahead and change it. Chase (talk) 17:24, 19 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Lead (photo)[edit]

A picture of JB with his eyes closed? Is there really no picture available with his eyes open? Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 14:10, 14 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Answer: I actually didn't even think about the picture too much, as to the different pictures would have just been preference. The sole reason this one was chosen was the fact that it wasn't being used as the main photo on any of Justin Bieber's articles. It could be definitely changed. I tend to prefer the one on his main article. So the answer is yes, preferentially "better" pictures are available. Chase (talk) 19:20, 14 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Could you please post what a few of those that you would consider better? I'll do a more extensive review later hopefully. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 22:27, 14 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Lead (text)[edit]

The main concern is that "the second video to receive 1 billion views on YouTube" is not cited. Another concern is the use of the word "although" at the beginning of the sentence "Although the song has received over 5.0 million likes, the song has received over 6.7 million dislikes", which sounds non neutral to me. Other than those two concerns it looks pretty good to me. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 11:56, 16 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

checkY Done — Reply: Emir of Wikipedia; I fixed both of the issues you had with the lead text. I added a source to the first statement and also re-worded the non-neutral sentence to represent just facts. Chase (talk) 19:20, 16 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Article Photo[edit]

Comment: Emir of Wikipedia; The newest one and arguably the best, is the one used in the infobox for the main article, which is why I stayed away from using it. It is also worth mentioning, his discography page uses this image as well. Chase (talk) 00:43, 15 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I say all three should use the same one for consistency or different ones for variety, unless one is particularly relevant to the article. I'm personally leaning towards the first one, but lets wait and see if anyone else has a different view on this. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 10:21, 15 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Reply: Emir of Wikipedia; I actually agree. I just didn't know if that should be something to worry about or not, but if it's not a problem to repeat pictures on articles, then we should use it. Chase (talk) 01:19, 16 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Music videos[edit]

The heading other performers credited is confusing. Does this mean that some performers are uncredited like in movies? Do we really need three or four references for so many of these? It's understandable if they all support a different piece of information and I haven't taken the time to look if this is true. Another suggestion is to get rid of the directed by Justin Bieber blue background as it only used once and move this information to the description of the said music video. I like the picture on the side of the article.Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 15:48, 17 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Reply: Emir of Wikipedia; The "Other performers credited" refers to other artists that have received credit beside Justin Bieber for the given song. Meaning, Bieber wasn't the sole artist on that song. If "None" are listed Bieber was the sole artist on the song. This is modeled after featured list Lady Gaga videography and Katy Perry videography. As to the references, most of the time I had that many because they were for different aspects of the description or the director, but maybe a few of them are redundant. Also, I will eliminate the blue key and background for music videos directed by Justin Bieber. It doesn't need to be in the description, however, because it is in the "Directors" row. Thanks for those changes. The page is on my watchlist so you don't have to ping me when you've done it. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 10:10, 18 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Done Thanks for the changes. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 18:44, 18 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
