If I understand your question correctly, the major-league record may be this Phillies-Cubs game, in which the teams were tied 22–22 at the end of nine innings. (The Phillies won it in the tenth.) Deor (talk) 10:48, 27 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mexicans and the Alamo and torture[edit]

the mexican forces besieging the alamo subjected ehe trapped yankies to psychological warfare prior to liquidating them to a man,what the mexicans did evidently, was to play a single tune, played repeatadly and uninteruptedly over and over addnausium through the night before the morning of the slaughter!!! the western film [rio bravo] starring john wayne and dean martin, refered to and used the very selfsame mexican tune in the scenario of the saib film. The title of the mexican yune/song accor- ding to [rio bravo] is "El diguallio" or the "cut throat song" how the film translated the song title, it struck and moved me to the pit of my soul;one of the greatest tunes i"d heard ever!!! ergo my intense besire to locate and thus,hopefully aquire a copy of it if possible.The version performed in the film is excellent. So, as qell as the musical aspect, it is obviously also of historical rich yourvalue hence worthy to be brought-up and investigated to further add-to and enrich your fact pool i felt the enquiry therefore is ; who played the tune, and is it accessable ?????? thank you,

See "El Degüello". The Alamo soundtrack has a short "Deguello de Crockett" listed, and a much pricier Rio Bravo one has a "De Guello" too. Youtube has clips from both films. Clarityfiend (talk) 06:35, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Where can I read Detective Comics #1-26?[edit]

I have long been interested in reading the very first issues of Detective Comics, however I can't seem to find them anywhere. Obviously, I know that I would never be able to get ahold of original copies, but I had hoped that they had either been reprinted in some large collection of comics or that they had been posted online somewhere. I have looked quite a bit, but I haven't had any luck in finding them. Does anyone know where I could read issues #1-26?--Jpcase (talk) 21:40, 27 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think asking Fantagraphics will be of much help here - this question is obviously about DC's Detective Comics, specifically the issues before the first appearance of Batman (in #27). The GCD has an entry on the series which lists all reprints - issue 1 was reprinted in 2001 as part of DC's "Millennium" series, for the others it looks like you're out of luck -- Ferkelparade π 18:44, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I just had a look for "DC Millennium Edition" on eBay, the whole collection can be found for about 40$, individual issues go for around 5 bucks...although the one issue with the reprint of Detective Comics 1 isn't available individually at the moment. Might be worth checking out some comics shops around you, the reprint doesn't appear to be extremely rare at least. -- Ferkelparade π 20:31, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for checking that. I don't think I'm going to spend $40 for it, but maybe I'll check out a comic store sometime. #2-15 have never been republished in any format? That's disappointing. I hope DC Comics has plans to release them in the future.--Jpcase (talk) 20:44, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
