Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

Compare this edit and summary by First Lord of Downing Street (talk · contribs) - a known sock of hovertover - here [1] to this edit by Rochester [2]. Hovertover socks and Rochester also seem to have an interest in Stanford (see page history [3]). Calidum ¤ 01:52, 20 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Surpringsly, Rochester3000 appears to be Red X Unrelated.--Bbb23 (talk) 21:22, 20 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

Everyone here has been editing to the same specific pages that socks in the past have been fond of, which is essentially anything and everything Bates College-related. For Wikimanna, editor interaction utility indicates a strong overlap with very many pasts socks. Examples include Lane Hall:[4] [5], History of Bates College: [6] [7], List of Bates College people: [8], and much more. DrrkO, a seemingly single purpose account edits to Bates College traditions, another sock magnet article. Also Rectk, which was created apparently to restore a sock edit, and has shown the same interest in Ivy leagues:[9] [10]. Sro23 (talk) 01:26, 17 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Self-endorsed by clerk for checkuser attention - I have suspicions, especially relating to these accounts' similar first few edits, however a past check has shown that accounts that appeared to be similar were in fact unrelated. I'd like to see what comes up now. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 17:36, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Account is disruptively editing Bates College similarly to the master account. The master account was blocked fairly recently, so there may be some other sleeper accounts to check for, too. Pinging Bbb23 as they have blocked the master account. 208.54.5.223 (talk) 03:11, 23 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

Just two days after user LivinRealGüd was warned at the Edit Warring noticeboard that they will be blocked if they revert their preferred changes once more in the article Bank of America, a new user Strepice pops us reverting to the suspected master's preferred version through repeated reverts,[11][12] giving a similar edit summary. This could be a red herring to entrap the master (as LivinRealGüd has claimed at Talk:Bank of America that the suspected sock is not them). Yet, a checkuser could provide definitive results here to be clear. Lourdes 08:16, 22 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I think we'll just leave it there, then. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 19:48, 22 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

Many overlapping edits with DonSpencer1's sock User:LivinRealGüd and very similar styles, as well. I noticed this from odd behavior at Talk:Bulge Bracket and how it was archived.

Both have made several dozen fussy, similar edits to Bulge Bracket. One Factor's third edit was a precocious expansion of that article a few weeks after LivinRealGüd's block. One Factor's sixth edit was to Sergio Ermotti (an investment banker), which was also extensively edited by LivinRealGüd.

Compare this to this, where both accounts re-add the same image and similar wording to the template at Bank of America.

LivingRealGud made dozens of edits to Talk:Luka Modrić, a Croatian footballer, where One Factor popped in to share a similar sentiment.

LivingRealGud was previously cautioned against refactoring talk pages (at User talk:LivinRealGüd/Archive 1#Talkpages) which the user dismissed. Compare this edit from LivingRealGud to this from One Factor. The latter was to a talk page which LivingRealGud had archived by copy/paste. This habit is shared by One Factor, which removed the archive bot.

There's something... weird going on with another, feuding sock farm, per Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Kiernanmc/Archive (started by a different sock). May or may not be relevant.

It appears some previous socks have been sleepers or dedicated SPAs or similar, so it seems unlikely this is the only account. Grayfell (talk) 09:19, 15 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've added Patriot Parrot. This user is also inappropriately refactoring archived talk pages of overlapping topics after manually archiving them. This includes Talk:Bates College, (such as this) which was an area of activity for several previous sock puppets. This edit just completely deletes any mention of DonSpencer's sock puppetry, citing WP:DWS. Subtle. Grayfell (talk) 09:55, 15 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Added DancingTruce. Same as above. Manually archiving talk pages which mention DonSPencer1's sock puppetry. Grayfell (talk) 10:14, 15 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
