Suspected sockpuppets [edit]

Evidence submitted by Explicit [edit]

I have an extremely strong feeling that ܥܝܪܐܩ is a reincarnation Izzedine. When reviewing ܥܝܪܐܩ's edits, I noticed that this user started using Twinkle within five days of being registered. The likeliness of a new user finding and correctly executing the tool in a such a short time span is very improbable, so I decided to look at the history of a few of the articles ܥܝܪܐܩ has edited. I found Izzedine (talk · contribs) in Demographics of Iraq and, using Popups, decided hovered over Izzedine's username to find the account was blocked. Reviewing the user's block log, I found several blocks for edit warring and ultimately an indefinite block for disruptive editing. Coincidentally enough, ܥܝܪܐܩ has also been blocked for edit warring (see block log. Reviewing Izzedine's edits, I noticed also frequently used Twinkle and edited similar articles as ܥܝܪܐܩ has. I then decided to use MZMcBride's WikiStalk tool. Surely enough, Izzedine and ܥܝܪܐܩ have edited a high number of the same articles. With all this evidence available, I strongly believe ܥܝܪܐܩ is a sockpuppet of Izzedine. — ξxplicit 23:02, 2 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Comments by accused parties [edit]

See Defending yourself against claims.

I've noticed User:Izzedine in the history pages of many Iraq related articles myself, so on that note I'm not surprised at the suggestion. Though looking at User:Izzedine's edits indicates we have little else in common: [1] [2] [3] [4]. I would probably have clashed with that user over their nationalist editing aswell. When I registered here I looked in "My preferences" and clicked those gadgets: Twinkle, Friendly etc. I've since found it quite addictive on here and have done a lot of editing, much of which is counter-vandalism, so the rollback is handy. I'm not sure what similarity there is other than editing Iraqi articles though. I am a Chaldean from Iraq after all. I think it's the same with other Syriac and Iraqi users: [5] [6] [7] [8]. ܥܝܪܐܩ (talk) 02:49, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked and tagged. I'm sorry, but I agree that the editing patterns and behaviors are too close to write off as coincidental. –MuZemike 21:52, 9 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

User Mov25 popped up recently on page Georgia and started removing the consensus-based map, as well as the definition of Georgia as a Eurasian country- all of this without providing a shred of evidence:[11],[12],[13]. Disregarding European placement sources, demanding that Georgia be classified as western Asian based on handpicked sources, and removing the agreed-upon maps is strangely reminiscent of a similar POV campaign waged by user:Izzedine, an indefinitely blocked sockmaster:[14],[15],[16]. For this reason, I want to request a checkuser and determine whether my suspicious are correct.--ComtesseDeMingrélie 01:18, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The other two I added are also against any association of Georgia with Europe so I think something should be run on them as well. If Izzedine is stale than what can be done?

Comments by other users[edit]

Accused parties may also comment/discuss in this section below. See Defending yourself against claims.

All I have done is pushed forward a map that would show Georgia (and the other Caucasian countries faithfully). What this entailed is placing a map that puts Georgia in the centre of the map and North to be aligned upwards, this is a established way to display maps, and I believe there was a move in Wikipedia to display all country maps this way. I have said nothing about Georgia's politics, culture, or affiliation, yet my accuser keeps accusing me of trying to defame Georgia, which couldn't be further with the truth. All I have done is made a neutral map to show the country in an unbiased manner, as we strive here to create information that is unbiased and is limited in its POV. As you see, all Caucasian countries no follow this map style and it looks much more professional and fluid. Several senior editors and geography enthusiasts have agreed with this type of map display. I hope you see that the accusers claims against me are unfounded and are just stemming from his preconceived notions of what this map style entails. Mov25 (talk) 02:44, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It seems that the same user CdM was also using 4 IP socks from Georgetown University: 141.161.133.117 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), 141.161.40.101 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), 141.161.133.153 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) and 141.161.133.79 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). The edit warring and talk page comments seemed coordinated on Georgia (country) and Template:Europe and Sea. Mathsci (talk)

Izzedine and all other socks are  Stale; this will need to be determined by behavioral evidence alone to determine a connection to Izzedine. –MuZemike 01:31, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That was before you filled in the other two suspected socks. Do you have any further evidence to suggest that Mathsci, Mov25, and Chipmunkdavis are the same person, let alone the same person as Izzedine? –MuZemike 01:40, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

information Administrator note Obviously an at bad faith request. Note, ComtesseDeMingrélie has been edit warring with these two users. ComtesseDeMingrélie is also blocked 2 weeks for socking and edit warring. Elockid (Talk) 02:17, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Filer indef blocked as a sock of Polgraf (talk · contribs). Elockid (Talk) 03:04, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

To note here, the following accounts are  Confirmed as each other:

Looking at previous editing histories of Polgraf and other confirmed socks, they are  Likely to be Polgraf. –MuZemike 03:08, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In another related note, User:Mov25 has been  Confirmed as MosMusy (talk · contribs). –MuZemike 07:03, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
