Suspected sockpuppets

Sockmaster and puppets edit the same articles. I was aware of the first IP problem because of disruptive editing at Louis Van Amstel. However, after requesting a block of the IP, I noticed User:Floquenbeam's comment at the master's Talk page here. Then when the first IP listed above came back from the block and recommenced the same pattern of disruptive editing, I again requested a block, which was granted by User:Drmies, this time for one month (previous block was one week). Then, another editor began a report on ANI here, and we agreed I would file this report. There is ample behavioral evidence to suggest sockpuppetry. I changed checkuser to yes, but that's really at your discretion. A range block may be appropriate for the IPs, not sure. Bbb23 (talk) 14:10, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This was just listed and closed here. Action was taken against IP puppets but not again master. No reason was given for not blocking master, but I assumed it was because there was no recent editing history by master. Relisting was invited if there were more developments. Master has come back and done same thing to Louis Van Amstel article the puppets have been doing. Bbb23 (talk) 19:00, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • True, but as long as the master is editing from only one place, it's fine. I meant to relist if new accounts or other IPs show up. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 03:16, 24 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Just a few days ago, while using an IP, the editor was blocked for 30 days for "long term edit warring, BLP violations." The ANI discussions led to an SPI investigation request, to confirm Floquenbeam's conclusion that the named account was associated with the IPs. Since the 30-day block is still in effect (following an earlier 7-day block), we're talking about block evasion, whether the blocked editor is using one account or one dozen.
