Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

I think I'm on to something, just not sure what...

It seems quite obvious to me that the MaribelCaseys are the same user, given their user names. I think they're also connected to Lasrunas009, because they edit on the same topics (eg. Angelica Chain and Freestyle music), and at least two of MaribelCasey178's creations (Draft:Bill Shields and Draft:Rebeca Silva) use images uploaded by Lasrunas009. Of these accounts Lasrunas009 is the oldest, so I'm filing this under that account.

  • BTW: MaribelCasey889 is globally locked, so clearly something's rotten with this lot.
  • BTW 2: that Freestyle music article has an interesting edit history, with several edit summaries saying "If you're not going to put New England on the freestyle scene, please don’t put Boston on the freestyle map", including by Lasrunas009 back in Nov-23 and MaribelCasey178 just earlier today, as well as several IPs (some of which are blocked). I don't know if it's worth digging into the provenance of that article more?

Now, this is where we move firmly into tenuous territory: I searched past SPIs for "Maribel Casey", and the only thing that came up was Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Isla Riordan/Archive, where among the socks are Maribel Wagnery and Casey Owenena. Granted, "Maribel" and "Casey" aren't so unusual names that this couldn't be just a coincidence, esp. given the large number of socks in that drawer, but it looked like a faint ghost of a duck to me. I probably wouldn't have even mentioned it, seeing as the last investigation was over 7 years (!) ago, and I figured that the farm has tumbleweed rolling across it by now. Except that I then saw some random user make this random edit at User_talk:Isla_Riordan#Amish_Mafia, which I thought looked so odd that perhaps the farm isn't as abandoned as it first seemed. Or am I just seeing things that aren't there – is there not only no duck sitting in the tree, but the thing I'm barking up isn't even a tree?

Anyway, I would like to ask for CU to confirm the connections between the four accounts, and to look for any sleepers... and with a bit of luck, maybe find a connection to an older home farm, be it Isla_Riordan's or otherwise. Or else feel free to just tell me to get back into my box. Thanks, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 09:28, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

PS: Additionally, there are at least the following MaribelCasey accounts:
The latter two haven't edited on en.wiki, but then they're both quite new. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 09:39, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the ping. I don't have much to add except that these accounts are duckly related to the range I blocked earlier today. I've pre-emptively blocked MaribelCasey0189 as it's obvious; the other one isn't registered on en. Both have edits on wikidata that follow the same pattern as here.  —Smalljim  22:05, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
