Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

On the Steps discography article, Convert12 restored pretty much the same edits there as did the Steptacular12 account: diff by Steptacular12, diff by Convert12. The major takeaway here is the addition of the "25 Revisited & Alternated Videos" section.

Then after the article got semi-protected, both Steptacular12 and Convert12 have appeared to game to get autoconfirmed permissions, by adding "|2" to reflist templates, or adding reflist templates with "|2" parameters in them:

Both accounts marked them as minor edits too. — AP 499D25 (talk) 02:19, 13 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Comments by other users[edit]

Accused parties may also comment/discuss in this section below. See Defending yourself against claims.
An important note is that several IPs from Vietnam have been involved in the same activity:
I reported this disruption two days ago at WP:ANI#Declared manager of the UK pop group Steps. Binksternet (talk) 05:39, 13 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Clerk, CheckUser, and/or patrolling admin comments[edit]

  • CheckUser requested and endorsed by clerk - given all of the activity around this, might be worth a check of the accounts. (Obviously not requesting for IPs.) TheSandDoctor Talk 23:51, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • The accounts are  Confirmed to one another, also Constantly45. Blocking all. Will leave this open so that someone else can consider the IPs. Girth Summit (blether) 14:14, 16 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Closing per the above and without any action on the IPs as they haven't edited in a number of days, have no recurring history of this, and a block probably wouldn't prevent anything given the dynamic nature of most IPs. TheSandDoctor Talk 16:21, 16 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
