Evidence submitted by Keepcalmandcarryon
[edit]

Writing style (lower-case 'i', similar English mistakes) and editing history (planned communities, especially Coyote Springs, Nevada, Mountain House, San Joaquin County, California) leaves no doubt as to identity of these accounts. Disruptive behaviour has included repeated deletions, against consensus, of sourced, clearly written text, which is then replaced with unsourced, largely incomprehensible language. See Talk:Coyote Springs, Nevada for examples. Keepcalmandcarryon (talk) 19:34, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the evidence submitted by Keepcalmandcarryon. The history of these accounts is fairly obvious and includes:

I wouldn't mind seeing checkuser evidence. However, based on the obvious similarities above, I am inclined to block all three accounts for sockpuppetry. I have worked on repairing articles on which Quayhands has been active and might be considered involved, therefore I would prefer that another administrator take a look at this. • Very distinctive editing style, socks blocked and tagged. Youtubek's problems seem to stem from problems with the English language not from any POV or personality traits, a class of user that I would normally think could be easily molded to a non-problematic contributor, but reviewing the whole scenario seems enough time has been burned here, so blocking main account as well. These accounts exhibit the same editing pattern of YouTubek and his known socks -- which unfortunately includes additions of copyvio, additions of unsourced text, and unexplained removal of sourced text. They have arrived one after another -- usually after an account begins to have complaints. Kenbear22 arrived today after Wallaceken1990 was warned for copyvio additions. Evidence includes:

Note that although Whodat1010 and Toysbe are stale accounts now, I am including them here to corral any of the obvious older or sleeper accounts. Kenbear22 and Wallaceken1990 are recent and can easily be check-usered if required. CactusWriter (talk) 23:39, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The above accounts have all worked on developers' articles such as Babcock Ranch, Lammersville Joint Unified School District, John C. Kimball High School, and Mountain House, San Joaquin County, California. There is clearly developer money interested in making the various plans look okay on Wikipedia. These accounts are likely paid editors or developer sockpuppets. Binksternet (talk) 04:13, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Imoneone888 edited the Union City, California, page to increase the population of the city, ditching reliable census numbers for numbers taken from an Economic Developer's page on the city website. The pattern of editing the Union City article by other development-promoting Youtubek sockpuppets is one of trying to establish the city as crowded, as needing more development.

Fremontfunkid911 also edited the Union City article, to emphasize the large population of the James Logan High School, yet another target of Youtubek sockpuppets. Fremontfunkid911 edited the James Logan High School article to show its large population, a necessary step to the desired end of having the school board order a developer to build another high school. This editor also appeared on my user talk page and on the talk page of Coyote Springs, Nevada, a development that has been a target of Youtubek and his sockpuppets.

Tombraider22 added populations to the List of planned cities, targeting Coyote Springs, Nevada, and Douglas Ranch, Buckeye; both previously targets of Youtubek's posse.

70.162.249.77 made this series of edits to Planned community, removing bothersome maintenance tags and highlighting Buckeye, Arizona, Douglas Ranch, Buckeye, and Coyote Springs, Nevada; articles that have been of interest to Youtubek.

As an aside, it appears that the very large Youtubek sockpuppet gallery is intimately connected to the Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Quentinwllcs/Archive. Many of the articles are shared, and the editing style is similar. If there is a way to join them all, perhaps that would be useful. Binksternet (talk) 01:57, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The new user shares the same interests as Youtubek (and his many past socks) and also shares his idiosyncratic lack of competency in English. The articles involved are the same ones, new developments with increasing populations looking to expand their school systems. The article on Mountain House, San Joaquin County, California, has been the target of Youtubek and a handful of his socks; Eagle Mountain, Utah, appears to have the attention of a couple of socks; and James Logan High School has suffered under ten or more socks. This one quacks like a duck. Binksternet (talk) 05:26, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Check declined by a checkuser. In order to facilitate and expedite your request, please provide diffs to support your case. Please give two or more diffs meeting the following format:
  1. At least one diff is from the sockmaster (or an account already blocked as a confirmed sockpuppet of the sockmaster), showing the behaviour characteristic of the sockmaster.
  2. At least one diff per suspected sockpuppet, showing the suspected sockpuppet emulating the behaviour of the sockmaster given in the first diff.
  3. In situations where it is not immediately obvious from the diffs what the characteristic behaviour is, a short explanation must be provided. Around one sentence is enough for this.

These recent socks show much the same idiosyncratic typography and naming practice as previous Youtubek socks. Because of WP:BEANS I don't want to point out the specific diffs. The articles of interest are old favorites of Youtubek socks: Lammersville Joint Unified School District and Mountain House, San Joaquin County, California. One of the suspected socks created a new article in the same vein: Mountain House High School. Checkuser is requested because in many prior investigations, unexpected additional socks were uncovered. This is an inveterate and incorrigible puppeteer interested in promotion of real estate developers and developments, fond of planned cities and planned schools. Osr12 boy is not just putting out more promotion of future developments in regard to Mountain House, California, just as did Youtubek and his many socks, but he displays the same typographical quirks such as... but I will not add to WP:BEANS. I will just say the similarity is immediately clear to me.
Bartboy1972 is also interested in the same topics, as Youtubek, including the California cities of Union City and Mountain House, and the development of new high schools. The general naming scheme of Youtubek socks is followed.

  • The User Carracer992 made several edits to James Logan High School that caught my attention. The edits were very similar to User talk:Twocities1989. Upon following the link to Twocities 1989 I found an SPI link and deduced that they were one and the same. The user is/was persistently adding low quality images to the article in question and replacing the schools logo with said images. User was warned several times on both talk pages and edit summaries were left explaining reverts. Regards - 4twenty42o (talk) 14:14, 27 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Carracer992's contributions are too few to identify positively as Youtubek. The little evidence is the username style ending with a number, and the one article of interest. Twocities1989 is positively Youtubek because of the naming style and because of this diff and this one showing the characteristic Youtubek typography, including odd caps, strange spacing and a poor sense of proper punctuation. Suspected sockpuppets

The first 14 suspected socks have been active in the last three months. The final seven suspected socks are from longer ago but they have ample behavioral similarities to Youtubek and previous confirmed socks. I think the older ones should be blocked and tagged per WP:DUCK.
Here's the editor interaction of the first 9 socks. This shows an unusual interest in the same small pool of articles, mostly about topics related to Union City, California (including Union City Intermodal Transit Station created by blocked sock Whodat101), but with a couple of odd, identifying standouts including a development at River Islands at Lathrop (created by blocked sock Kendwallace), a development at Mountain House, California (including Mountain House High School, an article created by blocked sock Bartboy1972), three wrestling topics, and one mobile phone topic.
All of the edits show the same quirks of punctuation, especially with regard to periods, commas and spaces. All of the edits show the same poor grasp of English grammar which is characteristic of Youtubek.
 • Full stop, but no space between sentences: Example from blocked sock Kendwallace. Example from suspected sock Moutainrider2013. Example from suspected sock Wallace23t. Example from suspected sock Kidwrestler19996. Example from suspected sock Kentwilliamswall. Example from suspected sock Peach230Frenso. Example from suspected sock Tranistrider1979.  • Two words separated by comma, but no space: Example from suspected sock Union city pride 50. Example from suspected sock Leroypanye. Example from suspected sock Wallace23t. Example from suspected sock Quentinwallmiams. Example from suspected sock 1959decoto. Example from suspected sock Wacoshopper. Example from suspected sock Wrestingfan1012.
 • Space between sentence and subsequent full stop. Example from blocked sock Quentinwllcs. Example from blocked sock Uccolot999. Example from suspected sock Moutainrider2013. Example from suspected sock Phonegeek214. Example from suspected sock Tranistrider1979. Example from suspected sock Hayward1965. Example from suspected sock Transit202.
 • Space between word and subsequent comma. Example from blocked sock Quentinwllcs. Example from block sock Youtubek. Example from suspected sock Union city pride 50. Example from suspected sock Wacoshopper.
 • Note that this SPI case is directly related to the earlier one Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Quentinwllcs/Archive, and in fact all of these socks should be traced back to the very earliest account. As far as I can tell, the earliest one is Special:Log/Tonyf23ton from November 2008, followed five months later by Special:Log/K.w_2009. Special:Log/Quentinwllcs was a few months after that, in July 2009. All of these precede the Youtubek account which was created in January 2010. Binksternet (talk) 18:33, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wrestingkidbay101 is interested in the strange combination of Union City, California, wrestling, and real estate development projects, exactly as described at Wikipedia:Long-term abuse/Youtubek. This edit shows the typical Youtubek-style problems with English, especially with spacing and commas.

The other socks are suspicious even though they have just made talk page requests. With this edit, Justformike asked for the population to be updated. The English is poor. Next, Gogo1954 made this request which is a continuation of the population discussion with Binksternet but under a new account name. The poor English is very much evident, especially spacing and commas. After that, Vernonwallace made this request which included the copying and pasting of text taken from an online source (one of the earliest Youtubek styles as seen at Wikipedia:Long-term abuse/Youtubek), and the name "wallace" has often been part of the socks of Youtubek: Kendwallace, Kwallace2010, Wallaceken1990, Wallace23t.

I'm asking for checkuser because a great many sleeper accounts have been discovered by that method in past investigations. Binksternet (talk) 15:06, 25 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Knowlege of union city 1966's edit history combines the main three interests of Youtubek: Union City, California; developer's construction projects; and wrestling. Checkuser cannot be used to tie this case back to the old ones because too much time has passed. The unique fingerprint of Youtubek also shows in his uploaded images: snapshot of Union City, snapshot of wrestling ring, and copyright violation sketch of developer's proposed office building.
