Wikipedia:Spotlight/Checklist

The following is a list of things to do after finishing an article:

  1. Remove the Spotlight working template from the article
  2. Change the spotlight template on the talk page to show the diff of our improvements: add {{spotlighted}} with |date= |start= and |diff=
  3. Update Wikipedia:Spotlight#Spotlight_articles with the after and diff
  4. Add the new article to Wikipedia:Spotlight/Current/Page
  5. Update the newsletter at Wikipedia:Spotlight/Newsletter/2009/October
  6. Update Wikipedia:Spotlight/Current/Date with the date that the article will be under the spotlight until (usually one week), and if possible, update Wikipedia:Spotlight/Current/Next.
  7. Send a spam letter for all participants saying we need a next article chosen from the suggestions
  8. Add {{Spotlight}} to the new article's page and talk page.
  9. Update the bot page at User:SoxBot_III/Autoedit.js to show the edits of the new and previous article.
  10. Create a to do list for the new article
  11. Work on the new article
