  • He united two great empires in Europe the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Kingdom of Poland to create a massive slavic empire. Falphin 23:08, 18 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
    • I support the nomination, but I wouldn't call the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth a 'slavic empire'. Commonwealth (compared to its contemporaries) was fairly pacifistic, which doesn't fit the empire defintion too well :) And none of those countries had an empire before the Union. It is a minor detail, but I don't want to see word 'empire' added to the bio. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 23:20, 18 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
      • I have no intention on adding the word empire since it is never used elsewhere. For the sake of an arguement... The Kingdom was pacifist but that doesn't change the fact it was involved in several major wars, and that it ruled over multiple ethnic groups. I likewise would consider the Duchy of Lithuania an empire, because it ruled over multiple ethnic groups and extended form the Baltic to the Ukraine. I will grant the Kingdom of Poland doesn't fit in most leniant definitions of an empire but nonetheless it was a signficant power in Europe. And come on if the Central African Empire can be considered one, surely the commonwealth can. I guess I was exaggerating a bit. :) Falphin 23:57, 18 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Comments:

  • She is probably the most well known Egyptian ruler, and she was a very powerful ruler and was a master of economics making the Egyptian economy only second to Rome. The article doesn't go into detail about her plan to have her son enthroned on an Empire, whether Eygptian, Roman, or Indian. The article doesn't even talk about her plan to leave Egypt to to establish an empire with her huge amounts of wealth. Nor does it go into detail with her relationship with Caesar or Mark Antony. I'm not saying it is a bad article but it lacks in a lot of areas for such a signficant figure. Falphin 22:02, 21 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • As the mother of the soap opera was of the most successful television genres she could use a more in depth article. I have recently added some additional info to her page and from the sounds of it would be a really fasinating person to research Dowew 03:47, 24 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • Irna was not only the inventor of the modern-day soap opera, she helped to popularize many elements that are widely used today in and out of daytime, like amnesia. She created and presided over one of the few shows to make a lasting transition from radio to television. The Guiding Light is the longest-running program in broadcast history, if I remember correctly. She was also, as Dowew mentions, a fascinating person, very very tough. --JamesB3 04:50, 24 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • Exactly. Let us have real information on his *policies*, enough so one can judge by oneself in this important political time in German politics. Let us go beyond the simple life story.

Comments:

  • Adams's best known work The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, was recently voted to become a Featured Article. However, his actual biography could really use some work. The biography is fairly linear, but this could be improved. There are, to date, no actual references given, though three biographical works, by three different authors, are readily available on either side of the Atlantic. Several suggestions for improvement have been made on the talk page, but a few of these have yet to be implemented. With his millions of fans, I think it would be easy to improve the quality on this page!

  • I was looking through the philosphers and most were fairly good however of the ones I've heard of this one seems to be lacking. The article claims he is considered the "foremost philosophical apologist for Christianity." I imagine this could gather considerable support from the Philosophy boards. While I don't believe he is as notable as the Dalai Lama I do think he is worthy of the BioCOTW. I meant to also nominate an Afghan philosopher but I can't find him now. • A popular conservative talk host that if compared Bill O'Reilly is in need of expansion. 01:30, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)
  • I'm not so sure there is a whole lot more to add. He's a popular talk show host but that's about it. There isn't a whole lot of notable depth to Sean Hannity's life, I don't think. In any event it's just going to bring in goons from both sides of the political spectrum who will vandalise it back and forth for the two weeks that it's up there. --Holdek (talk) 20:16, Jun 23, 2005 (UTC)
    • Vandalism is a possibility but compared to O'Reilly or Dan Rather his article isn't that great. Falphin 13:59, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)
      • To be truthful, Hannity isn't that great compared to O'Reilly or Rather, and certainly not as notable. Ditto to what Holdek said. Volatile 22:32, 26 Jun 2005 (UTC)
        • The show Hannity and Colmes is the second most watched cable news show in the United States only behind O'Reilly. Rather is only notable for being on the air for a really time and the major controversy surrounding his show. Falphin 8 July 2005 17:16 (UTC)
          • Actually, the network newscasts have always substantially outperformed any news-related cable show in the United States. Of course, I'm not going to argue about who's "great" :)--Pharos 8 July 2005 17:33 (UTC)
            • Thats good because I don't think Sean Hannity is great. :) I just think he deserves a better article thatn he has. Falphin 8 July 2005 21:14 (UTC)
  • Compared to Rush Limbaugh's Article this is nothing. Sean is the 2nd most listened to radio show only second to Rush Limbaugh,Sean Hannity has 13 million listeners a week. This article can be improved.--BrenDJ 20:53, 18 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • This article needs improvement because Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr. was a very important landscape architect in the earlier half of the twentieth century and literally has hundreds of projects to his name, including many government facilities and university campuses. The article on his father Frederick Law Olmsted is decent but the son, who did just as much landscaping work as well as a lot of environmental advocacy efforts, has nothing to his name. --Cyde Weys talkcontribs 07:49, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

She also also a Canadian broadcasting institution hosting numerous shows for the CBC from the 1960's-1999. There is a wealth of information out there, but the page is currently a big mess (most of the controversy section looks to have been plagarized from an encyclopedia article).
