The railroad of the Anthony & Northern Railway Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad, extending in a general northwestwardly direction from Pratt to Vaughn, Kans., with branch lines from Trousdale to Kinsley and Junction to Iuka, Kans., a total of 100.36 miles of first main track. The carrier wholly owns and uses 106.327 miles of all tracks, which are classified in the trackage table in Appendix 1.
- CORPORATE HISTORY
The carrier was incorporated December 12, 1912, under the general laws of the State of Kansas for the stated purpose of acquiring and operating a railroad to extend from Anthony, Kans., to Hastings, Nebr., a distance of about 275 miles.
