The Belt Railway Company of Chattanooga, hereinafter called the Belt Railway of Chattanooga, owns 25.160 miles of standard-gage, steam railroad, of which 2.513 miles is double tracked, comprising a switching line in and about the city of Chattanooga, Tenn.


CORPORATE HISTORY

The Belt Railway of Chattanooga was incorporated October 2, 1895, under the general laws of the State of Tennessee, for the purpose of acquiring the property, rights, and franchises of the Chattanooga Union Railway Company. The date of organization was September 28, 1895. DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The owned mileage of the Belt Railway of Chattanooga, amounting to 25.160 miles, was all acquired by purchase after foreclosure.
