The railroad of the Osage Railway Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track, standard-gage, steam railroad, located in northern Oklahoma. The main line extends westerly from Foraker to Lyman, a distance of 17.984 miles. The carrier also owns 5.858 miles of yard tracks and sidings. Its road thus embraces 23.842 miles of all tracks owned and used. In addition, the carrier has trackage rights over 2.140 miles of road at Foraker, Okla., also joint use of station facilities at that point, all owned by the Midland Valley Railroad Company.

The carrier, which operates for freight service only, serves the Burbank oil fields and receives practically its entire traffic from that source.

CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier was incorporated November 18, 1921, under the general laws of Oklahoma, to acquire and operate a railroad, the location not being stated in the articles of incorporation. The date of its organization was November 18, 1921.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The road, all owned, of 17.984 miles was all acquired by construction under our authority, February 27, 1922, (71 I.C.C. 160). The line extending from Foraker to Shidler, Okla., about 10 miles, was constructed during the period from November 10, 1921, to February 23, 1922. The extension Shidler to Lyman, Okla., about 8 miles, was constructed in 1923 and the early part of 1924 under our authority, dated July 2, 1923, (79 I.C.C. 757). The work of grading and tracklaying and the construction of trestles and culverts were performed by several contractors, none of whom appear to have been affiliated with the company. The records indicate that all other construction work, was by company forces.
