The Rutland, Toluca and Northern was incorporated November 11, 1909, under the general laws of the State of Illinois, for the purpose of acquiring and operating a railroad from Rutland to Granville, Ill., with a branch line from Henry Junction to Henry, Ill. The date of organization was November 16, 1909. Pursuant to the above purpose, the Rutland, Toluca and Northern acquired the property, rights, and franchises of the Toluca, Marquette and Northern Railroad Company.
