Corporate history.—The carrier was incorporated on May 30, 1866, by special act of the State of Connecticut, and was organized January 26, 1869. The road was built by Cheney Brothers, under contract with independent contractors, in the period between January and June 12, 1869, on which latter date it was opened for operation. The principal office of the carrier is at South Manchester, Conn. It is controlled by Cheney Brothers through ownership of the outstanding capital stock.
