Wolf River Valley Railway Company

The railroad of the Wolf River Valley Railway Company, herein called the Wolf River Valley Railway, is a single-track line located entirely within the State of Wisconsin, extending from the end of the track of the North Western to a point near Van Ostrand, 1.980 miles.

Introductory

The Wolf River Valley Railway is a corporation of the State of Wisconsin, having its principal office at Chicago, Ill. It is controlled by the North Western, through ownership of the entire outstanding capital stock. On the other hand, the records reviewed do not indicate that this company controls any common-carrier corporation. The property has always been operated by the North Western.

Corporate History

The Wolf River Valley Railway was incorporated June 14, 1906, under the general laws of the State of Wisconsin, for the purpose of constructing and operating a standard-gauge railroad, about 71 miles in length, located in the counties of Forest, Langlade, Oconto, and Shawano, in Wisconsin. The date of organization was June 19, 1906.

Development of Fixed Physical Property

The owned mileage of the Wolf River Valley Railway, extending from a connection with North Western tracks to a point near Van Ostrand, Wis., 1.980 miles, was constructed by the North Western for account of the Wolf River Valley Railway during the year 1907.

Leased Railway Property

The entire property of the Wolf River Valley Railway is operated on the date of valuation by the North Western, through ownership of its entire outstanding capital stock, without any formal lease. The Wolf River Valley Railway and the North Western have joint use of the telegraph line, located along the former's railroad, owned by The Western Union Telegraph Company, under the terms of the agreement dated April 1, 1898, between the latter and the North Western.
