Hi there, I'm much unpleasant using my account name on the part of this page title. If you do not have an intention to insult me, please reconsider the title. Thanks. --Calvero JP (talk) 14:32, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, hello there! You might wish to consider having a word with the User:MuZemike, the usual Check-User dealing with his case, to see what he can possibly do. At the moment, I am afraid that the name is absolutely, firmly and utterly stuck, at least in the English-language Wikipedia, [as far as this version of Wikipedia is concerned]. Upon a brighter note, at least that you are "properly" called a "Nipponese" "dog", and not a "Chinese dog" or a "North Korean dog", eh? — KC9TV 13:50, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 4 November 2017[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: Not Moved.Association-by-name is a much-sought characteristic at every LTA and given the long history of the case, name-changes are bound to cause usability problems.(non-admin closure) Winged Blades Godric 14:35, 12 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

– It's time that we stop propagating this offensive slur against a Wikipedia editor. Calvero/Calvero JP requested this change some years ago. The Nipponese Dog Calvero account isn't even the sockmaster at enwiki; see Japanese Dog Calvero for example. I'm sure there are others as well. Let's just use Kagemusha, the transliteration of his original account name. —Guanaco 11:11, 4 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: There is an existing global account named Kagemusha which has a local account at en.wikibooks where there is no clear evidence showing this account is a sock of the master. Also despite the account appears to be inactive, they may come back anytime, so the rename has a possibility to cause confusion that this account belongs to the master. -★- PlyrStar93. I think 影武者 possibly had lost his password on that old account, otherwise it can't be possible non caught by any admins block or stewards global lock. @Lanwi1: What is your opinion on that issue? SA 13 Bro (talk) 16:20, 4 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@SA 13 Bro: I think 影武者 has no knowledge of English at that time... --Lanwi1(talk) 16:51, 4 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
"Lin Hao Sheng" is another option. On the other hand, User:Kagemusha might be wise to choose another name if they return to editing. The name has been tainted by this LTA, and it would cause confusion if they ever edit at jawiki or zhwiki. —Guanaco 06:32, 5 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
What was the clerk Sro23 have described another sock case at here is a good example for consultation, when a sockmaster has been known under a certain name for a long time, it is useless to move those pages when an sleeper accounts is older than the sockmaster account, even technically is discovered on the confirmation, so I think those pages just leave it there alone. SA 13 Bro (talk) 15:14, 5 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I generally agree, when the SPI/LTA pages aren't named for an ethnic slur against a Wikipedian. —Guanaco 15:33, 5 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm...you proposed about the sockmaster account which contain a issue that is profanely username of insulting an ethnicity, maybe will reconsider by the community consensus opinion. SA 13 Bro (talk) 16:46, 5 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • A little late for moving this, don't you think? Calvero has been inactive for years. Sro23 (talk) 19:13, 5 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Late, but not too late to try and fix it. Calvero should be respected for his past work and encouraged to come back, not insulted. —Guanaco 02:44, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, there is also a essay guideline about do not insult the vandals. Calvero is not a extremely vandal like SGK, even is SGK, we also must not insulting him, we just give him the WP:RBI treatment and that is good enough for the situation. SA 13 Bro (talk) 04:53, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'm actually okay with moving the master to Lin Hao Sheng just for the names sake, and it indeed appears to be a better candidate among all the socks in his drawer since the name is pretty relevant. But I can certainly see why this is a bit late apart from Calvero/Calvero JP being inactive, as a side effect of such move is to have all these sock accounts retagged, nowadays there are almost 800 here. Of course if clerks have access to some automated tools that can do this, it wouldn't be an issue. -★- PlyrStar93. Message me. 04:15, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Is a good idea to move on his real name account. SA 13 Bro (talk) 04:53, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It should be trivial to do with AWB or pywikibot. —Guanaco 04:48, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm not a big fan of moving SPI cases with long histories, especially if it means losing the essential name recognition. GABgab 04:45, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think we have to see the usability here and there's not much of a point of this move. While you're seeking accuracy, the clerks at SPI have to potentially understand the usecases and I'd say it's fine as-is. --QEDK () 07:17, 9 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
This isn't about accuracy in identifying the sockmaster. I don't care about that. I just think it's important to stop labeling Calvero a Nipponese Dog. —Guanaco 09:47, 9 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Can we add information with pages related to the most recent account William Herschel? 66.128.150.14 (talk) 13:42, 17 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: Per WP:DENY. The LTA page already links to the relevant cat which includes this account. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 18:54, 18 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Account is unlocked by the steward Green Giant. I don’t care much about further development in en.Wikipedia – it is a matter of your reputation, buddies. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 04:28, 31 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@WQL: I don't deem that his personal info is needed on English Wikipedia, it seemed that he try to harass you on edit summary, now the edit summary has been deleted. SA 13 Bro (talk) 22:08, 15 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
