Behbahan County (Persian: شهرستان بهبهان) is in Khuzestan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Behbahan.[3]

History

After the 2011 National Census, Aghajari District was separated from the county in the establishment of Aghajari County, which was divided into two districts and three rural districts, with Aghajari as its capital and only city at the time.[4] The village of Mansuriyeh was elevated to the status of a city, and the village of Mashhad merged with several villages to become the new city of Tashan.[5]

Population

At the time of the 2006 census, the county's population was 172,597, in 39,607 households.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 179,703 people in 47,618 households.[7] The 2016 census measured the population of the county as 180,593 in 51,838 households.[2]
