I would like to get an exact GPS coordinates for Costa Maya. Even Google Maps doesn't have a closer zoom on that area. Jungworld.com 03:20, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The coordinates for Costa Maya are roughly 18°45'52"N, 87°40'8"W. --NormanEinstein 14:00, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

History section[edit]

Most scientific evidence I'm aware of has humans in North America ca. 13.5 kya. I therefore removed a claim about settlement ca 20kya, and the subsequent sentence that claimed a lack of organization, which were already labeled as unsourced. The entire section needs to be sourced: there are no citations. Also, there is a lot of information that is relating to the broader area and not specific to Costa Maya; likely it should be removed and a main article about the Mayan areas should incorporate anything common (something like Maya civilization) Bhudson 15:36, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mahahual (Majahual)[edit]

I have created a redirect from Mahahual (and Majahual) to this page, since I expect more interest in the aftermath of Hurricane Dean. However, as the "Costa Maya" is essentially a cruise port right at the village of Mahahual, I wonder if maybe "Costa Maya" should redirect to Mahahual, instead of the way it is currently. It doesn't matter if it is unreferenced (and this article is without references as well as needing clean up). Majahual should have its own article, however, regardless. It is the town that was closest to Dean's first landfall. 66.217.34.205 02:16, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't write the article, just linked it. I agree it needs work, but having actually been an eyewitness to this place about three months ago (when the article also needed work), at least the geography is right. I can't and won't vouch for much else. Oh, and this interesting tidbit, there used to be a Majahual article. It was deleted by some overzealous Wikipedia administrator??? Map needed[edit]

I would appeal to this articles major editors to put in a map showing Costa Maya's exact location within the Quintana Roo province. I would do it myself, but I don't have the technical expertise to do it.Hokeman (talk) 02:47, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
