Extensively edited for style

[edit]

Brought language up to Wikipedia standards. Corrected errors. Verified that James Richardson and Joseph Galichia are still alive, and that Mark Lane died in May 2016. Activist (talk) 20:45, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Activist: Thanks for your efforts. I haven't looked at the changes you mention, but the article had numerous stylistic and other problems when I saw it, so it must have been bad indeed. And thanks for the citation on HB 227 and how much he could receive from it. However, looking for the precise passage in that news article, I noticed that the wording was identical to what was in the article before my own stylistic changes. So this note is to alert you and others that there may be further copyvios remaining in the article. Yngvadottir (talk) 05:49, 11 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Children who died prior

[edit]

What is the story on his children who died in earlier events? FloridaArmy (talk) 19:54, 5 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Freedom magazine

[edit]

I am unable to save my edit updating this article because Freedom magazine is on the blacklist, and since it's a BLP, rather than circumvent it by not including the URL, I'm joing to dump the info here in the hope that someone else will succeed in finding a citable source; I couldn't.

I created a new section headed Early life, text as follows:

Richardson had several juvenile convictions and had been in a reform school in Marianna. One of his four children by his first wife, Margie Westbrook, died suddenly in June 1963 after a vomiting episode. He and his wife Annie Mae Richardson had each left the marriage several times, and in March 1967, she had obtained a warrant for his arrest for failure to provide support; on October 21, Margie Westbrook obtained a warrant against him for desertion and failure to provide support.

I also added his first wife to the infobox, changing the list of spouses to use plainlist, and increased the number of his children to "11 (8 d.)"

I changed the ending of "Incarceration and exoneration" from:

Richardson has lived there since, and Galichia has saved his life from multiple vascular events. Richardson remarried to Teresa Rivers and is now retired.

to:

As of February 2017 Richardson had remarried and was living in Wichita.

moving the "citation needed" to before that sentence.

I changed the ending of the "Compensation" section from:

As of 2015, he had not yet received any payment.

to:

In 2016, he received the first of ten annual checks for $112,000.

The source for all these changes was: Peter B. Gallagher, "Investigation: Poisoned Justice", Freedom magazine, February 2017 (4 refs, 2 in the Early life section); and I also retitled Deaths to "Children's deaths" and subordinated all the section headings following to it, except I made a new "Documentary" section heading for the film. There you have it, for anyone who may want to improve the article in future and can find a source we aren't blacklisting. Yngvadottir (talk) 03:33, 7 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Reece's presumed motive

[edit]

The Herald Tribune says that she blamed Richardson for having helped her husband leave her. It also mentions that she had shot one husband and was suspected of poisoning another. That should probably be integrated into the article somewhere. https://www.heraldtribune.com/story/news/2013/10/28/frail-and-aged-man-returns-to-arcadia-and-a-hurtful-past 87.126.21.225 (talk) 10:14, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
