To do: links (including red links) for: 1930s, 1950s, 1990s.
Once this is done, I intend to produce a list of red-links, with years and full names etc. I will also produce statistical information based on this. —Noswall59 (talk) 11:28, 7 June 2018 (UTC).
- 1990s Done. —Noswall59 (talk) 14:02, 19 June 2018 (UTC).

- Thank you for doing this Noswall59, and for the list of red links below. Gaia Octavia Agrippa Talk 21:08, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
- No worries Gaia Octavia Agrippa. Any interested parties now have something to work from: as you can see, I've now included red links from the 2000s and 2010s below, so it's a complete list of missing FBAs (save for corresponding and honorary fellows but that's another kettle of fish entirely...) Thanks, —Noswall59 (talk) 16:03, 20 June 2018 (UTC).

The above list contains red-links as they stand at 20 June 2018; it is (to my knowledge) complete as of this date. (It does not include corresponding and honorary fellows whose lists still need to be linked – a major task.) Perhaps when these articles are created, they should struck or simply left in blue to track progress. Cheers —Noswall59 (talk) 16:01, 20 June 2018 (UTC).
- Hi Noswall59, I noticed that the 2018 Fellows had been appointed and have added these, including the links to avoid dab pages. I've also been through the entries of those on WP and added post-nominals, award info and FBA category.Oronsay (talk) 04:51, 22 July 2018 (UTC)

Update on progress
[edit]I thought I'd count the initial red-list which I posted in June 2018, subtract a few false negatives, and then compare that with the list as it stands in January 2021. I count 450 red-linked FBAs in June 2018, compared with 315 now. That's still a lot, but tremendous progress. Cheers, —Noswall59 (talk) 14:02, 26 January 2021 (UTC).
- With my addition today of articles for Clement Webb (1927), Hamilton Thompson (1928) and Herbert Salter (1930), all of the Fellows up to the year 1930 now have articles. There are 9 outstanding for the 1930s, 9 for the 1940s and 14 for the 1950s. From 1952 onwards, all deceased fellows (but one) seem to have publicly accessible obituaries on the British Academy website. Cheers, —Noswall59 (talk) 17:39, 9 February 2021 (UTC).
- Well done! Much appreciated. Johnbod (talk) 17:47, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
- As a further update for myself if no one else, all of the fellows from the 1930s and 1940s now have articles, and I'm making a dent in the remaining ones from the 1950s; so far, five down and one that had been created last year but was not correctly linked here. That leaves 8 left for the decade.
- For my own reference, there are 14 red links for the 1960s, 23 for the 1970s, 27 for the 1980s, 72 for the 1990s and about 90 for the 2000s. At a realistic pace of work, I could get the 1950s and 1960s done by mid-April and the 1970s done by the end of June. The earliest-elected still-living fellows were elected in 1980 and all but one of the still-living fellows from that decade have articles now. The rest from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s are deceased, and nearly all of them have freely available obituaries on the BA's website or in newspapers like the Guardian. This makes the task of article creation much easier, if still time-consuming (I do try to make even the short articles useful). Many of the fellows from the 1990s are still alive, so sources are harder to come by, especially for retirees (Who's Who and Festschrifts on Google Books being a good start). It is quite possible that, if I maintain interest and have enough time, the pre-1990 FBAs could have articles by the end of the year and a dent could be made into the 1990s cohort. —Noswall59 (talk) 10:40, 12 March 2021 (UTC).
- That's the 1950s done. —Noswall59 (talk) 12:40, 20 March 2021 (UTC).
- The 1960s are now done. The 23 red links for the 1970s will take some time to do – perhaps 4–5 weeks at my current rate. —Noswall59 (talk) 14:35, 6 April 2021 (UTC).
- With the addition of Cecil Grayson's article on 6 May, the fellows elected in the 1970s now all have articles too. This means that every fellow elected before 1980 has an article. There are 27 red links for the 1980s, so it will probably take me anywhere from 5 to 8 weeks to work through them, free time allowing. —Noswall59 (talk) 14:49, 9 May 2021 (UTC).
- With the creation of Richard Hayward's article this afternoon, the 1980s are now complete (mostly thanks to the efforts of others). —Noswall59 (talk) 18:43, 9 July 2022 (UTC).
- After a long hiatus, I have come back to this list. I have tallied up the missing fellows from the 1990s. There were 85 when I first compiled the list above; since then, 30 have been created (excellent stuff - though it's been 5.5 years since I created that list, so it would take another decade to finish filling in the gaps if we continued at this pace). This left 55 still red-linked as of last week. I have now created 12 of these in recent days, completing 1990–92 in the process. This leaves 43 missing fellows for the period 1993–99. I intend to gradually add these, but help is always welcome! (PS: many of the missing fellows from the '90s are still alive, which does sometimes make sourcing and research more complicated, especially where they have retired and therefore don't have university profiles). —Noswall59 (talk) 16:27, 28 January 2024 (UTC).
