Name

[edit]

@Aspects: – I didn't fully capitalise the name when creating the article because I don't think the tour has an official name and I just copied the format of Rage Against the Machine reunion tour in that respect. Having never made an article like this before I'm not sure which format is correct (and don't really care) but thought I would let you know my reasoning for how it was before. My Chemical Romance Reunion TourMy Chemical Romance reunion tour – There is no evidence that this is a proper name; none of the cited sources use it as such, and MOS:CAPS would tend to put it in lowercase. Perhaps if you could explain to us from a policy-and-guideline point of view how these titles are formed in title case, it would be more helpful. Right now I could merely assume that widespread fanboy enthusiasm leads to flouting of the MOS. Elizium23 (talk) 10:43, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. Take a butchers at WP:TOURDAB. Ta. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 11:25, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, so I see some proper names there. The difference is, there is no evidence that this tour's name is proper. That would be a job for WP:RS; I looked at all of them and they denote no fixed, proper name at all. Elizium23 (talk) 11:29, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
For the record, I have no interest in this band (I had no idea they had split, let alone reformed), but "Tour" looks to be the standard across all the great bands - Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam, etc. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 16:19, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

United Kingdom

[edit]

@HorrorLover555: The column for "country" in the article is shorthand for sovereign state. For UK dates, it should list the United Kingdom, and not list England, Scotland, or Wales. While the subnational divisions of the United Kingdom are called countries, they are not sovereign states like the other entries in the column. See Countries of the United Kingdom, which states "the United Kingdom is a unitary sovereign country." Best, – Zntrip 04:16, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Zntrip: There is already a discussion on the WikiProject Concerts regarding this. See the discussion here. "England", "Scotland", and "Wales" have been listed in every concert tour article for years. HorrorLover555 (talk) 05:46, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@HorrorLover555: Thanks for the heads up. I've left a comment. – Zntrip 05:36, 15 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Changed Opening Bands After Pandemic

[edit]

Hi there, not sure if I'm doing this in the right place sorry, hopefully someone knows where to request an update to the page?

I noticed that the listed opening band for "Oceania" says Jimmy Eat World. This is not entirely correct.

When the tour was announced in 2019, Jimmy Eat World was announced to be the opener. However, after the postponement of the tour due to COVID, the opener was changed. The show was opened by 3 bands "Lips", "Miss June" and "Goodnight Nurse", in that order, at the Auckland, New Zealand show, March 2023. Not sure about the Australian and Japanese shows.

Source: I was there :P and also https://www.ambientlightblog.com/my-chemical-romance-auckland-nz-2023/ 101.98.141.182 (talk) 03:28, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A blog is not a reliable source, and Jimmy Eat World was definitely there. Even the setlists they performed on those nights are on. HorrorLover555 (talk) 05:33, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made.  Lightoil (talk) 13:07, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Kia ora! If it wasn't clear enough in my last message, I'm suggesting that the bands "Lips", "Miss June" and "Goodnight Nurse" are added to the list of openers in the Oceania section! These three bands all performed at the Auckland, New Zealand show that was part of the Oceania leg.
