Student Groups

[edit]

I noticed that the Gunn High School page has a list of student groups, yet the Palo Alto High School page does not. For example, the Paly FIRST robotics team has its own website, http://palyrobotics.com/, yet it is not linked. Slauhale (talk) 15:35, 7 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Well someone has to know about it and edit this article. However Paly Robotics is not the usual student club but closer to a sports team. Do you have some good recent sources such as the Palo Alto Weekly that report on it and show it is clearly linked to Palo Alto High School. As for other student groups, do you have sources documenting ones that have been around a while and are substantive? Or documenting the approximate number. Note the Gunn High School page lacks documentation so Paly could one-up them by having good sources. --Erp (talk) 02:34, 8 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Suicides at Palo Alto High School

[edit]

The Palo Alto High School has been linked to higher than average suicides (historically for the last 10+ years), there were "suicide clusters" in 2009 and 2015, and this has been written about and investigated by the CDC in 2016-2017.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8] Does it make sense to add it to the article with proper citations? I want to discuss it here since it could be argued as an issue of recentism, however it's been awhile and there are RS sources. Jooojay (talk) 14:13, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Academics

[edit]

Maybe also include material on Paly's performance in extracurriculars like Regeneron STS and USAMO/other math competitions? (Cf. the Bergen County Academies page, which mentions Regeneron in the head and International Math Olympiad/etc. under the section "Clubs".) Thatsme314 (talk) 08:29, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
