Guy & Jon Articles

[edit]

I think its about time there were stub articles with a little info about John and Guy, like the one for Jamie. I was gonna make them but as i dont know them personally i cant fill in information such as DOB and early years. Does anyone who knows such information feel like doing these articles?Smithybob 21:03, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

there already is a Guy stub. Ric Melia 07:33, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

3rd Album

[edit]

I reckon there's enough info on the new album (at the very least a list of potential tracks for inclusion) to create a link for it in the discog section. Anyone agree? Chipstick 07:24, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe just a subsection in the main Reuben article for now - can't really create the article until the album's name is known (or at least a working title or something) Ricmelia 09:24, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah just say they're in the process of recording.

Okay, fair enough. Chipstick 13:23, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merging What Happens in Aldershot Stays in Aldershort into this article

[edit]

This has been suggested by another user. Possibly a good idea though I expect far more information to be added to the DVD article in a few weeks once it's been released. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ricmelia (talkcontribs) 15:57, 6 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

If more information can be added after the release, then we may as well leave it as a separate article instead of merging then de-merging it, surely? Chipstick 20:47, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think it should be kept as a seperate article. Otherwise the main reuben article will be huge, i for one get bored reading long articles. --213.249.247.129 20:04, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I took off the merge request - only one person was in favour of a merge. Ric Melia 10:59, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Appearances on Compilations

[edit]

I think it looks overdone with the pictures of all the compilation appearances. Im not gonna change it as people will probably object. However no other bands have this sort of information on their pages. I suggest we put this section as a list of names at most. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Smithybob (talkcontribs) 21:03, 7 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

It seems a shame to get rid of the pictures, but I suppose I agree with you. I would suggest a table given the name of the compilation, the year of release and the Reuben song featured. Chipstick 21:27, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh and just to prove you wrong, Smithybob, (sorry!) My Chemical Romance's discog (here) has a similar layout for compilation appearances. Not that I'm using that to suggest we should keep what's there (necessarily), but just to point it out, other discographies do use this format. Chipstick 19:28, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Haha fair enough. It looks much better how it is now, im happy with that. Smithybob 13:29, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

On second thoughts I agree with your original point, while I praise the effort of whoever it was that found all the covers for the compilations, it does seem 'overdone' as you say. For such things I normally consult a featured article, but sadly there are no featured discographies, so instead I refer to the Slayer Discography's (the Slayer article and a few of it's sub-articles are featured) Compilation Appearances section, that has similar information to the Reuben version but in a series of bullet points and no pictures. Perhaps we should do this instead? Chipstick 11:03, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Separate discog article?

[edit]

This is always dodgy ground, but the discography seems big enough to sepatate into it's own article ('Reuben Discography'). Most artist articles with large discographys seem to simply put the albums in the main article and go into more detail in the separate one. Does anyone agree? Chipstick 21:30, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I definately think its a sensible way to go, but i think we should wait until the new album is released.Smithybob 13:31, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sure I'd go with that :) Chipstick 23:05, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just to let people know, I have been working on an improved discography (primarily adding a 'music videos' section') that I will make into a separate article once the album has been released as agreed. In the main article I will simply list the albums, the EP and the DVD, similar to the Discography section in the Slayer article. Any objections? Chipstick 11:06, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

cool, then possibly merge the demo and dvd articles into the new discog article to keep the admins happy :) Ric Melia 08:43, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Betrayed cover.jpg

[edit]

Image:Betrayed cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:36, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Genre

[edit]

Personally I can't think of any Reuben songs that sound much like metal. I think their sound is more reminiscent of either grunge (in terms of the guitar tones) or hardcore/post-hardcore (general style)

megacomputer

[edit]

there seems to have been a lot of speculation over the "megacomputer" idea mentioned on the dvd. until something is announced that would suggest this is anything other than a joke, i don't think it should be included in this article. Ric Melia 08:58, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability Flag

[edit]

Noticed that there's a new notability flag on this article, and there's a possibility of deletion. I've started adding more sources and will continue to do so over the next week, hopefully other people can too. How do we question the flag/get it removed. It seems a bit crazy that there's a flag like this on a band with as big a fanbase as reuben. Daddsy (talk) 21:40, 27 August 2012 (UTC)Daddsy[reply]
