Winnfield's primary industry is forestry. It is also home the the Carey Salt Mine one of the largest salt deposits in the united states. Thought the salt mine is no longer usable due to it's flooding decades ago. Winnfield is also a center of controversy. At one time the city was literally divided by railroad tracks, whites of one side and blacks on the other, thought this is not true today. Also at the highschool football games, whites sat on the left side of the football stadium while the blacks sat on the left side along with the band and pep squad.

Unsigned

[edit]

Why are the above comments unsigned? History shows they were created by a IP not a loged on user? The above unsigned remarks should be removed. All cities in the Louisiana were divided by railroad tracks, I fail to see why such comments should be posted here unless they are posted on all cities in Louisiana. What is meant by 'Long faction of the Louisiana Democratic Party' ? What is the source for this? Sattmaster (talk) 21:04, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Its been 4 years Received no reply so removing 'associated with the Long faction of the state Democratic Party'
Why have out of town radio stations been added? Removed no point in this.
Why was the annual events section removed? Replaced. One of these events even has its own page.
I cant find it but I am sure we had museums listed at one time replaced.Sattmaster (talk) 01:23, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Huey Long challenged FDR in 1932?

[edit]

Huey Long didn't challenge FDR in 1932, he was planning to challenge FDR in 1936, split the vote, elect a Republican who would then fail badly so that Long could win in 1940. Long always planned to be a Senator first and then build a national movement to springboard to the Presidency, but '32 was too early. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.191.249.168 (talk) 18:09, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
